I think that last posting was out of place and inappropriate for a grown person to write. Depending on the university, financial aid to overseas and USC students is made available freely and often with government grants.

As to the OP's questions, yes, it is OK to live and work wherever you want in the U.S. with your conditional green card. It is up to the USCIS to evaluate whether or not to issue the permanent one based on the evidence you present showing that a bona fide marriage had existed up to the point you fell apart as a couple.

Out of place??? Its a perfectly legit question, did someone sponsor him to come to USA?? If someone did, then he/she should cover the burden, isnt that why one must sponsor or be sponsored in order to come to the USA??

And if i get a divorce, could i wait until 90 days before my conditional green card expires to inform the USCIS?

No, that's to live. It's the land of the free as far as education is concerned. US Citizens and Permanent Residents alike, don't be immature. For your information i received a government grant, if that puts you at ease.

You could, but what would that accomplish? You would have to inform USCIS if you move and if you don't move, but your former Wife did, she'd have to inform USCIS that she did. So, it would be apparent that you were no longer together.

Also, my Wife is my sponsor, my mother in law filled in the I-864a, and i am currently living with her. She advised me to start college in the fall, this way if things did come to the worst as she has seen her own daughter be crazy at times, i would be able to stay in the US and start a career. Having my mother in law vouch for me, is that a good thing?

Let it go, there are many many greencard holders that are able to recieve financial aid just as a US citizen. I know that in MA, you only have to wait 6 months to a year before you get the same financial aid.

Would you feel better about it if they had stayed happily married? Because your issue seems to be with him just *getting* the aid. If that's the case, go and complain about it in your state.

My mother in law said that if my Wife ever did end it with me that she'd support me to go to school here, i could stay in the basement until i can transfer to dorm. Would that look good on the Waiver? My Wife and MIL would even write affidavits. My Wife and i just back from Florida too, our delayed honeymoon, tons of pictures. I just think this is crazy but i want to be prepared

No, i wasn't. I posted here about a week after getting back, that's when things went downhill. Please don't post here agin rebeccajo.

As for everything being annoyed at my financial aid, i pay taxes, every single week, so what the hell is your problem? Would you rather spend it on immigrant mexicans? I don't think so. I can get an education and become a meaningful part of your American society with this financial aid, which i intend to. And once i become a lawyer, you can call me...

Personally, I don't seee all the fuss about the US Government kicking in some tiny portion of financial aid in the form of a teeny weeny grant. The higher education will result in a higher income (tons of studies show this). The higher income = more taxes paid and yet another consumer with disposable income to help drive the economy.

I think he means illegal mexican immigrants. Apparently a ton of them come to the US and live high off the hog on the generous social benefits available in the US.
