Regrowing the nads is all well and good, but regenerating a few brain cells wouldn't go amiss either.

Newt's "critique" of Sotomayer's qualifications is just BS politicking.

Sotomayer certainly needs to be scrutinised, but the level of scrutiny on display so far leaves a lot to be desired (i.e. it starts and stops with a two line quote).

Why do the people care, 10 years after Gingrich was forced out of office, still treat his every partisan utterance as a newsworthy occurrence? It seems rather apparent, in the eyes of the sheep, if somebody within the GOP routinely stands up and says mean, nasty things about Democrats, and if that person, by definition, is important, than apparently we must take this seriously.

It also applies most of the Senate Democrats smoking out the same bong you use. The vast majority of whom voted against SC Justice Roberts solely for political reasons and nothing to do with his sterling qualifications. Same for Bork years ago and the circus like charges of phony 10 year old sexual harassment charges on Thomas.

Its your loss Dave - you won't do even the most cursory exam of the words that were said before rendering a judgement - and that judgement has become your entire rationale for why Sotomayor is a bad candidate for the Supreme Court.

I *do* know that going off half-cocked over isolated soundbites doesn't provide a very good assessment of her candidacy either way.

It was badly worded only in so far as it would seem some can latch meaning onto a handful of words, which if taken totally out of their original context could be used to portray the candidate as subject to interpreting the law along biased, racial lines. You have to be at a loss for real genuine material to use that kind of spurious argument to advance the case against Sotomayor.

I would much rather have a discussion on a dozen representative cases that show her reasoning and decision making process and take it from there, but, oh well...
