Hello,

Yesterday we received an RFE for I-693 (Medical Exam). The attached sheet is so vague that we have no idea what exactly they are looking for. All it says is to submit an I-693 form within a month, and that there is a new version of the form (6/5/2008) that we must use if our medical was conducted on or after 6/1/2008. My wife did her medical in July 2008 after she got her P2, so it is highly unlikely that it was due to an older version of the form.

When we sent in our I-485 package, we already included an I-693 form, with the vaccination section filled out by a civil surgeon. So why asking for another one? Are they looking for a full medical exam instead of just the vaccinations? Since this costs quite some money, I just want to make sure.

Has anyone encountered this before or know what exactly they are after? I called the USCIS customer service this morning, but the lady answered the call was only reading things off that attached sheet and provided no useful information at all.

We got the same RFE. We did what you did, filled out the vaccination section and sent it in with the I-485.

When I called USCIS for clarification one person said we only needed to submit the vaccination portion again. Someone else said the entire medical.

We decided to play it safe and go with redoing the medical. We got approved shortly after that.

Thanks Zee Bee. Yeah, we'd better play safe too.
