after doing some research it seems AO "MEDITSINA" is no longer accepted by american embassy in moscow?

IOM is still on there, but are these stories really true about them. i am really worried for my wife :(?

You follow what is on the Embassy website. Meditsina lost their accreditation on Oct 1 and it may be until next year when they get it back.

from the website:

Immigrant Visas

List of Panel Physicians

The medical examination must be conducted before the immigrant visa interview. The following is a list of the facilities in Moscow with panel physicians authorized to conduct such examination. When you go to a clinic, please be sure to bring the following: 2 color pictures 3X4 cm in size, travel passport and an extract from your medical history with the list of vaccinations you have received. The document should include a doctor's signature and stamp.

The results of the examination must be submitted to the Embassy at the interview in a sealed envelope. Please refer all questions about medical appointments and the examination, to the clinics directly. The cost of the medical examination does not include the cost of vaccination.

I know of someone who is going to IOM later this week. I'll see about getting a report afterwards.

Hi Bobb.. hope you don't mind if I hijack your thread.. ;)

My girl just had her med exam in Moscow yesterday. I am not sure which clinic she went to, but, she is very upset about the experience. She was required to meet with a psychiatrist for 2 HOURS! They repeatedly asked her if she is using and narcotics (she never has) and made her pee in the cup for drug testing. She was at the clinic a total of 9 hours. They did not give her the results and she will have to go back to get them.

We are both concerned about the reason for and what will be reported by the psyche. It doesn't make alot of sense to me, unless they were trying to pull some BS on her. She said she did have to pay something extra.

Sucks!

There is a nice writeup about a recent medical experience on the Nov 13 interview thread.
