i am new to this and my fiancee and i met in china and we have begun the process of the K1 visa so that we can be together.we have gotten our receipt this week so we can track our case status and i want to know what caused the sudden change in the processing date for the nebraska service centre.not that i am complaining.i love it because it means i can hopefully get to be with my angel quicker than i envisaged.thanks :)

There was a new law that passed called IMBRA. It has put more than 10,000 aplicants on hold because of this. You should be getting an RFE (Request Further Evidence) for you to comply with it.

Also, I believe all petitions going through Nebraska are being transfered to California Service Center.....

There's a whole section on IMBRA in the forum, search it and read it so you can better understand it.

Also it would be nice for you to give us your Timeline so we can all see when you applied and when you got your NOA1......

K-1 Timeline:

11/27/04 - First met

03/06/06 - Engaged

06/16/06 - New I-129f sent

06/19/06 - I-129f rec'vd by TSC

06/29/06 - NOA1

09/12/06 - NOA2

01/24/07 - Interview APPROVED!

01/30/07 - Returned to US with fiance

02/15/07 - Married

AOS Timeline:

04/24/07 - AOS/EAD mailed out

06/06/07 - Biometrics done

06/21/07 - I-485 APPROVED!!

Nebraska transferred many of their cases to California due to workloads as a result of IMBRA (see the IMBRA special topics forum if you have questions about this).

Remember to keep your timeline updated and check the guides before posting.

If the OP used the new I-129F form, he won't necessarily receive an RFE as a result of IMBRA.

27 Feb. 2006: K1 petition sent to Nebraska Service Centre

2 March 2006: NOA1 dated (received in mail on 9 March 2006)

4 May 2006: NOA2!!!!! (DAY 66)

8 May 2006: File Sent to NVC (as stated on email dated 9 May)

24 May 2006: NVC sends our file to London Embassy

8 June 2006: Packet 3 arrives (DAY 101)

25 August 2006: Pack 3 sent to London Embassy registered post

29 August 2006: London Embassy receives my Pack 3 - 9/9/06 pack 4 arrives

SEPT 2006:APPLICATION PUT ON HOLD - WE HAD A FALLING OUT.

He said in his post that he already got his receipt so he can track his case status..... I seriously doubt he used the new I-129 form since they came out on 6/15....

Thats why I said he will get an RFE
