Hi all,

This is my first post here and first ever post in any forum so my apologies in advance if I'm doing anything wrong.

I am filing the I-129f petition for my turkish fiancee and have the following questions:

1) For the original statements of intent to marry and the statement of how we met, are we required (or is it advisable) to hand-write them? Or is it ok if they're typed and signed?

2) My fiancee already has a tourist visa. Considering it takes about 8 months for the fiancee visa to get issued, do you think it'd be possible (or not a very bad idea) for her to come visit me on her tourist visa while the k-1 petition is being processed? I hardly think this stuff would be so centralized that they would know of my petition when my fiance attempts to enter the US as a tourist.

and no we do not want to get married while she's here as a tourist cause 1) it can have legal complications and 2) the adjustment of status takes longer that way (or so we have heard) and we want her to be able to look for a job right after she comes to live here.

thanks

1) shouldn't make a difference, except, if handwritten, make sure it's very legible ... block letters advised.

2) there is no rule against visiting on a tourist visa while waiting for the petition, indeed my fiancee has already done so once and many others have reported multiple visits with no problem. However, keep in mind that it is always possible to be refused entry for a variety of reasons, so read up on reports here on how to approach such a visit (particularly, answer only questions asked and make sure that the intent to return is very clear to the CO.)
