My fiance' has a fever and what she thinks is a urinary tract infection. She doesn't want to postpone her flight to Manila on Sunday. Can you recommend any safe, trusted physicians there, especially in the western part of town near Roxas Blvd?

Or, do you think she ought to take a shot and go straight to St. Luke's and let them provide treatment along with the rest of her exam?

This is the first kink in our whole process, so I guess I should count our blessings.

Hi! I really wanted to help but I really dont know what to suggest.....

Lets just hope that by Sunday or before her Medical, fever will be gone....just make sure that she is well taken care of....

If ever is still there during the medical..then i guess she have to consult the doctor first.....

Hi,, I am sorry to hear that :(

I don't have anything that I can recommend to you.. But she still have time to get heal,, just let her stop having junk foods, soft drinks, all that has a lot of salty foods.. She needs to drink a lot of water so she will pee a lot too.. Make her sweat like having some movements so the bad acids will get out from her body.. Just really let her drink a lot of water,,if she pee a lot,,she will going to feel better by the next day.

I hope she will be having her health back soon.. :)

Just go to San Juan De Dios Hospital, its only in Roxas Blvd besides japan embassy, across heritage hotel. Just see a doctor. She needs to get some antibiotics for that. And tell her to drink lots of coconut water. Dont mind the cost of coconut in manila. Just drink them to help with her UTI.

as suggested by others just go to probably San Juan de Dios, there are other causes of fever, but if she experience pain while urinating, most probably it's UTI, have her urine check as well as her CBC, treatment for uncomplicated UTI is only just for 3 days, self medication is a NO NO

For UTI or any infections: Increase your fluid intake, if you can drink at least 2-3Liters of fluids in 24 hours, that would be great. No soda/cola drinks please. For fever: Paracetamol or Acetaminophen 500mg every 4 hours as needed for fever more than 37.8C is safe (especially for the kidneys). Usually within 48-72 hours fever will subside. Avoid salty food, especially junk foods. If you are a stone-former, you may have to avoid intake of Vitamin C as this can also form stones. For herbal medications that you can buy OTC which is also good for UTI and stones--> Sambong releaf which you can take 2x a day. If it gets worst, you may need to see a doctor. As what others have mentioned, San Juan De Dios, Manila Doctor's, UP-PGH are near Roxas Blvd.

Bottom line, fluids is always good. Just increase your fluid intake. Good Luck and God Bless.

(Just a simple medical advice from an Internal Medicine Specialist, but there is nothing better than be seen personally by a Doctor.)
