Does anyone have any experience with this? Preferably from Canada.

But more importantly, his Sgt. said we had to go to the US Embassy in Canada. With that in mind, couldn't we just go to a US Consulate? Or does it HAVE to be the Embassy. Any thoughts? >_<

I only got my military ID on base, once I got to the US.

My visa I got at the Consulate though (located immediately next to the Embassy).

Why don't you just call the Embassy and/or Consulate and ask, or check out their website?

But oops, just saw you asked for Canadian experience. If you click on the link below my post, though, you will find an overview of all Canadian Embassies and Consulates, with descriptions of what they do.
