Are separate timelines written by each person needed for HCM? If so, can one timeline be in Vietnamese and the other be written in English, or are they to be translated into one language? Are both turned in at the same time?

You only need to write one timeline in English. Someone was required by Consulate for notary. Relationship Status need to be written by both sides.

Relationship status?

Sorry, it is Statement of Relationship.

This is not necessarily true. Hien (my fiancee) never wrote a "statement of relationship" nor did she write or sign any statement of intent to marry me other than the statement that is part of the DS-156K.

One timeline in English (signed by the petitioner and notarized) is all that is needed.

Ahhh

so Statement of relationship = Intent to marry? gotcha... same as was submitted with 129F but with new date...

Yes. Statement of Relationship or Intent to marry. One of them is enough. I just want to make sure you do one of them.

If you have "Intent to marry", you should write timeline.

If you have "Statement of Relationship", you may not need the timeline because the "Statement of Relationship" shows it alread.

Hien, I am just curious where you are getting these rules. This may confuse many readers.

My fiancee did not sign any intent to marry or anything else. Ever. I wrote a detailed timeline that I signed. She only signed US Government forms, as required.

The guides say Intent to marry for both USC and SO

Yup. didn't do it and no RFE and never asked. I do not see where they are required for submission of the petition so did not include. applicant will sign intent to marry on the DS-156K at interview.

I am just curious where Hien got his/her rules on intent to marry, timeline and statements of relationship. Never seen those rules before.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think Hien means by this

- Timeline = Statement of relationship.

About the letter of Intent to Marry, I wrote it on my timeline......Kim-Thy and I still remain in contact while we’re apart from each other. We also intend to marry and look forward to starting our lives together as husband and wife when Kim-Thy arrives here in the U.S.

Bottom line!!! only needs 1 timeline even you are CR1 or K1, or K3.

I am CR1, I wrote 4 pages of timeline for my wife. They didn't even want to see it. only interview her, and PASSED. Each case is very different depend on the CO. BUT, for ALL K-visa should have a timeline.

This may seem OT, but still related to timeline and HCMC.....

I am going to be the guinea pig and see if I can pre-empt an RFE and front load the timeline at the same time... I know 4 sure I will get an RFE as I had issues in my initial filing... I have addressed the items that I know are at issue and have multiple copies.. I have included the detailed timeline in the supplement along with a revised intent to marry that includes evidence that I am free to marry and not living with ex wife... if the USCIS approves the file with these items included, HCMC can't require them again as it has already been approved at that point.. right?

I am sending this packet in before the RFE to avoid the loss of time.. I included a copy of the NOA1 that has a barcode (hopefully unique to my case)... we will see if it works....

Any insight as to what else can be added that HCMC may request?

Did you add in that packet the information about your ex-wife in current time? Her current address and phone number, her job,.. If not, you should prepare for your fiance when she go to her interview.

I got that from my case. We never have the Intend of marry and timeline. We wrote Statement of Relationship from both sides. I wrote with my thoughts and by my own English skill. He did with his point of view. Then, he only need to correct my writting in grammar, that's all we did.

The timeline we did is short and enough details to understand the relationship. It is about 1 and a half page.

Intend of marry may have or not, according to my opinion, because it's the fiance visa. If we don't want to get marry, the beneficiary must return to VN. There is no other way for her to stay in US.

I did not discuss ex in timeline other than when divorces were finalized... I mentioned in intent to marry that I had included divorce decree and copies of bank statements showing current addresses of each to document that we had moved on as individuals.... I dont think USCIS will have any issue with the ex, but with it in there when USCIS approves the pkg. it should quiet HCMC...

I have no idea what they will ask your fiance in her interview, but some other girls got the requirement of CO about ex-wife information. We have forum by Vietnamese on webtretho.com, where I can talk to many other beneficiaries, they told me this.

Thuy is familiar with ex's location, reason for divorce.. name, dates of marriage and divorce... should be enough.. ya think?

I will give her that link as it may help her to be more comfortable if she understands the process better...

Thanks
