Thanks guys for t5alking me out of it.. I really value your opinions..

As you can tell i am not very patient :-)

The waiting sux believe me. Look at my signature. I even decided to wait longer, just so I wouldn't have to deal with any of this again for a long time. Better to just do it the right way so you dont have anything hanging over your head at the AOS interview.

Done for 3 years or 10 years. Haven't decided yet.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Not being patient is all the more reason to do it right. Your ultimate wait time will be much less. We all did this, some more than others. Alla has been here 7-1/2 months and already the events of last year are fading as a memory. You will marry this wonderful woman and be with her the rest of your life, 6 months or 9 months is not so long in the grand scheme of things. I know, you think "easy for you to say" But I was there myself and believe me the whole process was delayed a few weeks more than necessary (maybe not in the long run) because I made sure everything was correct before I sent anything, if it took a few more days to check a detail, get a question answered here on VJ, I did it. Better a day or two now than several weeks in the future with an RFE.

You are lucky, Kiev is a very "fast" consulate to deal with and their method of doing interviews helps. Use this time to get all your Packet 3 documents prepared. As soon as your case lands in Kiev you can make an interview appointment. No need to wait for something to be sent, things to be returned, and wait for an appointment like may other consulates. You get an interview as soon as everything is ready, so get it ready now. You can shave several weeks off the process by having everything ready. Kiev only yesterday opened appointments for MAY! So there is about a 10 day lag in getting an appointment, not at all bad. I wouldn't be surprised if a few April appointments aren't still available. Kiev jas also been a very easy, I should say "family based visa friendly" consulate to deal with. You will have a much easier and faster journey than may people with the exact timeline as you up to the consulate phase.
