I got my NOA2 APPROVED! But this is puzzling to me. The letter starts as follows:

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate.(Juarez I guess) Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulante. The petitioner can also file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved application of petition, with this office to request the we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes.

I did contact my congressman and told him I was concerned about all the violence in Juarez and was there any way to let her do the interview at her consulate in Guadalajara. (This was before I knew ALL interviews must go through Juarez) It seems as if Vermont sent the approved application to Juarez and skipped sending it to National Visa center. That's Odd... isn't it !

I am in Guadalajara this week for Holy week and can not read the contents of the letter for myself. I had someone open the letter and then email me the contents. I do know the letter was from Vermont and NOT the NVC. So it seems as if they went directly to Juarez with the approval. When I get back to the states I will contact the consulate.

I'm scratching my head here and hoping this doesn't add more time to the whole process. Does anyone have any ideas here? :help:

Well...My fiance is wanting to feed me cheese, I need to eat it... opps she said its not cheese it's a snack LOL

Seems strange. Are you doing a K1? I've read some recent posts that say they are getting hung up in the NVC, perhaps while they are making a transition to this new system? So maybe they are doing a different process now by sending them directly to Juarez. It sure sounds like they are willing to let you go to a different consulate based on the language. We just finished our process but it would've been nice to have had a choice besides Juarez. I too wrote my Senators and expressed my displeasure with K visas needing to be completed in Juarez only.

It is the standard letter, it still goes to NVC so they can send it to the consulate.... NVC is the gateway... the petition cannot get into the consulate system without passing through the gateway

YMMV

Humm, PAYX so this is the standard letter? Does everyone have the ability to interview at a different consulate? I thought Juarez was the ONE AND ONLY for people coming from Mexico. I wonder why they would give me an option for a different one? Anyone know?

Yes tglea I am doing a K-1.. it has been a long process, but we are closer today than we were yesterday :-)

Standard "boilerplate" letter does not know if your country has more than one consulate that performs the "K" visas. For example, in Canada it could be Vancouver or Montreal (but not Toronto, Calgary, etc..)... In Mexico it is Juarez or Juarez.

Ahhh Payx you make sense. You seem to know a lot about things. Thank you so much for the information you are giving. It takes some stress out of not knowing some things about the "process"

My fiancee keeps calling me to go eat breakfast. I must go or else...... :bonk:

I got the same letter that said the same thing... I was so confused too! I'm glad someone else has gotten the same! I was getting worried they made a mistake or something!
