we will not destroy the earth. The earth will be here long after we have all perished. Trouble is we will make it uninhabitable to human life as we know it. Sure something will survive and our species will evolve to adapt to the new conditions but it will likely be unrecognizable to what it now is. Maybe thats what should happen.
