my favorite shot from the protest is when they are breaking into the Royal Bank of Scotland and all the "anarchists" are taking pictures with their expensive digital cameras

I am not too happy with the lack of regulation in the market either but its like come on. Anyone who enjoys the freedoms and choices in a capitalist country yet harps on about how bad it is, is a bloody moronic hypocrite.

I don't know of anyone from a communist country who has said, "you know what, the system wasn't that bad". Quite the contrary actually.

What I would like to do is conduct a survey at such protests and see how many of these people are on the dole, that is, are funded by the very system they hate.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

 Trying to conduct a survey during a riot - that's so you.

Most of those who are genuinely frustrated BY, are those who have lived exemplary lives, lived within their means, saved etc and have discovered that now they are being heavily penalised for doing so. That said, those are not the people who get involved in violent protest, as someone has already said, that it turns to violence is down to the tactics of a very small number of anarchists who's only agenda is chaos. I don't understand that kind of behaviour any more than you do.

They're not the ones protesting, they are busy picking up the pieces of what they have left. The protesters are freaks and clowns with dread locks from uni who have nothing better to do. I remember these types when I was in uni. Heck there was protest like this many years ago in Melbourne. So I deliberately drive my car literally through a crowd waiting for someone to do something. I must have had the look of death on my face because nobody did anything. I was young stupid and ready for some trouble myself.

Really BY, you make these statements, but they are just not true. There are many good reasons for joining a protest march and may honorable people have done just that - I guess you are not good with history. The problem is, that there are disparate elements who will turn a peaceful protest into a violent one if they get the opportunity.

I somehow doubt you'd be so tolerant if a minority of neonazis were part of a right-wing "tea party" protest. How soon we forget the phony "kill Obama" shouts at McCain rallies and demands the candidate denounce extremism.

How come there were so few non-white protesters in London? Guess they don't fit the football mob profile.

China and Russia have called for a one world currency. Now the G20 is meeting because of the global sinking economy and I noticed most the countries mentioned are western.

The protesters are a sign of the awakening change. I would really like to be in the room with the G20 and know what they're going to be talking about.

As it stands right now we support the world and when we're sinking the world is sinking thanks to globalization we are a truly a global community. That money went somewhere so where did it shift to? Which private pocket is it in?

I would like to see the U.S. sit down with China and Russia and say ok match me. Show me your money. Where is your money? How much are you going to put down for this, this and this?

Not really. There are always violent protests whenever there is a G8 and G20 summit.

When dealing with the Chinese and Russian governments, they are never going to show you their full deck of cards. Historically, they are secretive and manipulate governments.

Any ways, I like protests when people are there for the right reasons. I'm assuming most anarchists aren't hurt by the economic meltdown because they don't have much in the first place to lose.

As far as this BY character, the comment about neo-nazis was quite funny. Have you read any German newspapers in the last 10 years? Neo-nazi marches and riots happen in Eastern Germany all the time.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Those sorts of protests are fairly common throughout most of western Europe. Its practically a pass time in France - and there are union strikes and labour protests every other week.

Yes, precisely. If a car isn't burning in Paris, something is most wrong!
