It will get there! ((HUGS)) (F) 1.89 a minute!! I thought that you couldn't call the Consulate!!

Well technically I called the consulate and a voice prompt gave me a 1-900 number for interview questions and bookings. That's who I called by they said they don't do immigrant visa's there so I'd have to call the Calgary airport border station and they would know the answer. They however were only recorded responses unless I knew the extension of the person I wished to contact. But now I know better than trying to get anything useful from the consulate.

Still not received at the NVC, have you had any luck Emily and Gareth?

Mine's not there, either (NOA2 on July 20).

Hmmm I wonder on which end is the hold up? USCIS or NVC? I remember seeing a post like yesterday about someone who had an NOA2 date of early July and NVC just forwarded to the consulate a few days ago OR the person just received notification from NVC that it was forwarded...I can't remember for sure, but thats alot longer than I had to wait.

awww... I wish I could go on VJ at work without guilt.. lol but I can't :( I miss so much.

You guys should just make yourselves be stupid busy and not have any time to think about the visa process! it's working for me! LOL! I'm moving tomorrow, then a week later going on a month long leave. I'm excited, but nervous. And I'm nervous for my Kitty. lol She's staying with a friend of a friend, who has 2 other cats, and she's not a fan of other cats I don't think. eek! My options were so limited! LOL

sigh.... oh well..

my computer is also breaking, and that makes me really sad :( I might end up getting one when I'm in California, but am annoyed at potentially how much I will have to pay when I go back through customs on my return. Ah well.

Anyways, here's hoping the NVC gets their act together and ships off everyone's stuff to the next stage asap!!!! No fun doing all this waiting only to be faced with MORE waiting!!

Shhh.... :)

  • Get cat
  • Move house
  • Fly to London for a month
Sounds like an awsome plan. :)

You're computer might be slow because it's picking up updates. Or, it might just be breaking. (Does that help?) :)

Timeline

I'm going to tell myself that the NVC is putting all their man-power into processing applications already in the system so by the time they get around to opening ours it will be in and out the same day!

Ashenflowers - One month so jealous, hope your NOA2 comes the day after you leave then all your NVC-Consulate stuff will go down while you're together and have no reason to care about the NEW wait.

Going to go pick through the timelines looking for NVC received dates recently, honestly because I have absolutly nothing better to do.

I'm thinking its the CSC. Vermont cases have been getting into the NVC but no California ones since before July 15.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

You'd think they'd send it to the NVC before or during the time that they ship out the NOA2 but they must not becuase I have my hardcopy.

Enough ranting for one night, have a great night all, may the immigration fairy bring us all good things while we sleep.

The mail transit time between Vermont and New Hampshire is much shorter than California, so it could be either of them.

I vote for the immigration fairy. I'm sure we'll have good news by Friday.

Hi,

Sorry, just didnt get round to updating my timeline. NVC received ours on the morning of the 28th. When I called them they said that they couldnt get into my file because someone else was working on it! However, after asking a couple of questions about another matter, they said that they could now get into my file. Apparently, I put Dublin, Ireland as the consulate instead of London (I live in Belfast in Ireland!) and someone was changing it to the proper embassy as I was on the call.

I havent called them back yet to see if they have sent it off to London yet. I will do that in the morning and I let you guys know.

Anyone seen what the Packet 3 looks like when it comes from the London Embassy? I have a copy of it from the Bangkok embassy that I got from somewhere but it would be cool to see what I should be getting.

Sorry, just didnt get round to updating my timeline. NVC received ours on the morning of the 28th.

Yay, yay, yay!

I thought after it left the NVC my obsessive tracking days would be over but I found this in a different forum and thought I'd repost for anyone who didn't know that the fun won't be over yet! Just for fun I did the whole DHL thing and something left yesturday for Vancouver, I'm letting myself believe that by some twist of fate it was mine and its just not in the NVC computer properly.

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.

2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.

3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.

4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

-- Once you know the embassy has processed the file, get the signed DS-230 to them --

5) You can also call the DoS to find out your interview date once you believe the embassy has scheduled it.
