I think we're forgetting about the all-important moose. :bonk:

I think he'd make a wonderful rook since he has those big antlers which can mimic a turret.

Yes, let's not forget the moose!

Well, the maple leaf as a bishop doesn't go since it's a thing as opposed to a person (person, place, or thing), so I suggest the patron saint of Canada as the Bishop..... Saint Jean de Brébeuf. Or, if you want to stay with the "thing" theme, then I'm pretty partial to the inukshuk.

The queen, of course, has to be Queen Elizabeth. Anything else just doesn't make sense.

Funny story about Brebeuf, when I worked at Sainte Marie we used to do sleep over on the site one night a summer, and one of the guys who played a Jesuit, woke up in the middle of the night and said he thought he saw Brebeuf standing over his bed.

He was serious and not joking so either it was a dream or he did infact see the ghost of Brebeuf. :o We'll never know.

Here's my idea:

Beaver (Pawn)

RCMP (Knight)

Polar Bear (Rook)

Maple Leaf (Bishop)

Queen Elizabeth II (King)

Prime Minister (Queen)

Any suggestions?

I'll go with

Tim Hortens coffee cups that everyone talks about (Pawns)

Eskimo (Rook)

Mountie on a horse (Knight)

Kraft Dinner Box (Bishop)

Bob Mackenzie (King)

Doug Mackenzie (Queen)

Except the "Eskimo" is an Inuit.

True that.

I had a friend from Yellowknife in highschool and accidentally called her an "eskimo" and boy did I learn fast. :P
