EVERY Filipino that goes abroad has to attend the seminar? I thought it was only for people who were going to marry foreigners and then apply for a visa within the Philippines.

So are you saying, if a Filipino lives abroad as an expat or a worker, and they get married to a foreigner, they need to return to the Philippines for the seminar? Otherwise they will be denied the US immigrant visa? What do you mean by going back to their office and having something stamped on one's passport? Could you please explain this? Is there a CFO office in a foreign country or only in the Philiippines? I was never asked for a CFO certificate or anything when I got a marriage license at the embassy.

Well, never mind. Already looked at CFO web site. I qualify for remote registration.

All Filipino citizen that will be going abroad should take CFO. CFO is just a one hour seminar and after you take the seminar, they are going to interview you just for 5 to 7 minutes about you and your husband. That's it!

If you have the visa with you, you have to go back again to their office because they are going to stamp something in your passport. It has no expiration date...... You will only get another CFO if your husband/wife passed away and you get married again..

i think these are for Filipino Citizens who are going out of PHILIPPINES to the US or somewhere else. If I'm not mistaken, this includes those of other visa types too.

if you're from Thailand, I don't see that you need to go through this CFO seminar thing.

HOWEVER, for Filipinos who are married to foreigner and who wishes to change their status and name in their passport OR wants a passport, this CFO is needed before you head out to DFA for your passport. It's not a biggie, just film showing that will scare the ###### out of every woman (abuses abuses abuses) then they'll put you in a room have to listen to them ask you on how to live your married life, a mini interview where they'll ask you questions about your marriage/engagement. then cough up Php650, and you are good to go!
