when does k1 expire

how do u know when ur k1 has expired...my was returned to uscis on oct 30th 2008 and they sent me a notice that it will be 6mnths b/4 i will hear from then..but i heard that k1 expires after some time ....how do u know bicos i going to file as married..pls help...

when our first application was returned to calif i had my congresswoman check on the status as it had (expired) about the same time it came back. She got a email telling her this and stateing we were free to refile etc etc but we married and filed the cr1. Keep this statement whatever they tell (the rep) or you as your (clear to file statement). I tried to talk to someone in calif and was told ours was not a denial but a expire and they would not issued me a final letter saying this and there would be no more correspondence on it.

Correct me if I am wrong. You don't have a K-1. You had a K-1 application and for some reason it was denied and sent back to USCIS. I do not know why and therefore do not know what they will do. I presume, unless you are barred, you can re-apply whnever this gets sorted out.

The embassy doesn't deny it outright They return it to be reviewed with a recommendation. Some get reviewed others don't . But you can refile at any time. Just like married people can have 2 petitions running at once.
