I'm planning on moving this Saturday; can we go through a POE and activate my visa on a Saturday? Does the time of day matter? Or is it a 24/7 service. We're using Blue Water Bridge (Sarnia/Port Huron).

I'm pretty sure its a 24/7 thing? But I am not certain.

Damn I should have gone in at 3:00 am or something, I bet that would have been interesting.

Port Huron is a 24 hour operation - it is one of the busiest border crossing points, especially for commercial traffic which is really heavy at night, between Canada and the US. That is where we activated my K-1 - friendly, knowledgeable staff and quick processing. Good luck - you should be fine.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I went at 5am, I wondered if they were leaving or beginning their shift as they were rather cheery for that time of day.

Great- thanks for the help. I've crossed here many time before at various times, so I knew it was always open, but I wasn't sure about the "rules" for visa activation.

Thanks again!

Crossing into Port Huron on a Saturday, I can just suggest crossing mid-day. When I've crossed at that time, traffic doesn't seem to be too heavy. Early morning and evening seem to be the heaviest on Saturdays. I'm interested in how things go for you this weekend! That's where my fiance' is crossing into the US... best of luck to you!!!
