you might not want to get your ticket without a visa. yeah the fares are probably gonna go up cause peak season is coming up. but it is better to be sure. my mom recently extended her stay in the Philippines and had to pay a rebooking fee with Northwest Airlines for 350 USD.

I agree. It is very risky to book a flight before the visa is issued. There are too many variables that can go wrong. Yes, Peak season is coming, but just wait to book the flight until visa is issued. This will remove stress and uncertainty from your mind. You have enough to stress over now. Rebooking fees will also cost you. One-Way flight to the arms you long for is worth waiting a little longer for. Itz ok if it costs a little more. You are worth it. :star:

Why not try to re schedule your interview to an earlier date so that you would then get your visa earlier but fly sometime on may

I had my visa since march 14 and booked my ticket the day after and is scheduled to fly on april 14

We went against all the good advice and I booked our flights in advance because of the cost and availability issues that you stated. Everything worked out fine for us. I think that most of it depends on how confident on your preparations and your chance of getting approved the first try.

I felt that our case was very strong, and we carefully prepared our paperwork. This meant a lot of reading, researching, and then re-reading and double-checking. IF you are very confident that you have a foolproof case and your paperwork is complete and correct, then I would say take the gamble and get your tickets in advance.

In the end, it is up to the petitioner to do what he thinks is best, it is his money. Maybe I was just lucky ;)

Good Luck & Ingats!

at the beginning of this journey, we felt that way that we are very confident that we have a very strong case, everything seems very smooth and fine until my fiance got laid off, i was in panic and suddenly felt our world collapsed. it took us a while for us to realize that its not yet the end of the world and to see that we have some other things to make our case strong we just need to emphasize it and gather all necessary documents.

so right now, im alittle freaking nervous about the laid off issue but i know god is in control, we have some other strong points in our case that keeping us to be positive and proud for what we have.

so we will take one step at a time. after all, after this stressing interview things will turn to be a little lighter.

thank you and godbless!!
