That sounds great ja.da!!...Im going back to Phils march 30th to pick up my baby..we will be coming back to alabama on April 10th so im sure she would love to know of other Filipinas in alabama.

Well I'm going to have my interview on April 23rd but we're hoping to get an earlier one so we can get a much lower deal for flight going to Alabama on the 29th of April. The cheapest we found so far is $905 which is pretty high for a one-way ticket.

Have you book a flight for her already? maybe you can give us some sites or tips where and how to get cheaper ones. Ill be flying to Huntsville Alabama since thats the closest from my fiance's place.

There are a few sites like ( Orbitz.com,Travelocity.com and priceline.com) that you can find cheap tickets ..the cheapest i found was on Continental.com for $ 946.00 total one way which was the cheapest i could find, so i got those..my round trip was $1452.70..It wasn't the cheapest but i had to choose it so we would have the same departing flights..the best way to search is for fexible days ..choose 3 days before and after your selected dates...there could be a difference of $300 to $600 from one day to the next.I live in Brewton,AL so we'll be arriving in Pensacola .Florida which is the closest airport to my place..Well good luck on your interview Ja.da , and don't worry, my baby said that everyone at the embassy treated her very nicely..so you should do fine.. talk to you later..

Oh sorry ja.da Orbitz.com,Travelocity.com and priceline.com wont let you start a search from manila ,but try ( cheapoair.com and airfare.com)they are high now but keep checking maybe they will come down..also check Continental.com and NWA.com..sometimes they have some last minute deals.. or maybe your fiance could check with some travel agent..hope you can find a good one...

My wife and I will be living in Vegas but I have children in Decatur Alabama and we will be visiting it from time to time. I am sure she would love to make Filipina contacts there. We will be in Huntsville area also to visit my doctor there several times a year since he is the Cardiologists that has handled all my heart issues. So if you don't mind add us to your list as well.

Also as far as flights, try checking Northwest, they have the lowest fares I have found so far from Manila.

hi there.i am Via from cardona rizal philiipines but my fiancee lives at pansey,alabama.my fiancee just got our hardcopy of noa2 last march 24 and he got also my Manila case number.my question is do u know if i can go to medical now or do i need to wait the letter from manila us embassy.can i set also my interview now even i havent heard from manila us embassy.thanks

Okay got it! You can call NVC anytime from when you got your case number from them and ask them if it had already been sent to USEM Manila....once you have known the date it left NVC, count like 7-10 days then make a call to the USEM Manila to set an interview date...Better to have the petitioner do it (which will worth ($18) good for 3 calls but some said they did 4 times)...don't wait for the embassy to send you the appointment letter for it takes weeks sometimes to arrive, so better call them when you think they're ready to give you the schedule (sometimes they would advise you to call after two weeks but no, call them like after a couple of days) they will send the appointment letter in your email and you can print it out...and the ahrd copy from them will serve no purpose by then.

You can go to SLEC for medical examination anytime since its a first come first serve basis. But it would be more practical to go to the clinic if and when you already have the copy of your appointment letter. Also bring 3 2x2 pics and make copies of your passport already for they will hold your passport and they will be the one to send it to the embassy. You can actually go there anytime and just bring the copy of your approved petition and write the case number on the page you have printed out..but the medical result is valid for 3 months only.

northern Alabama is beautiful country. Not extremely cold in the winter but it has it's moments hehe. There is a lot of things to do in that part also. I lived there for 3 yrs before coming to the Philippines and it was quiet and relaxing.

Given your timeline...i think you can call anytime next week...probably wednesday onwards but if you want to try monday or tuesday you can, anyway like i said that $18 fee is good for 3 calls or more (but not sure about 3 or more)...They will ask your fiance of the beneficiary's infos like CASE #, EMAIL, ADDRESS,FULL NAME, BIRTHDATE, and CONTACT NUMBER. Good luck to you. Meanwhile, you can start working on getting all the necessary docs done because some documents really take time to complete or to have.
