Hello VJ's,

I am the petitioner (female) and just married my husband here in the US who came here on a K1 visa along with his 2 children, age 13 and 14 on a K2. I am now in the process of filling out their forms for AOS. I have a question in filling out form I-485 and G325a for K2 regarding mother's name. I just want to make sure if I should put my name as the mother or their biological mother who is deceased under I-485, part 3-A? It asked "your mother's first name". Then on G325a, to put their biological mother and put deceased under city and country of residence. Or use my name on both forms? I am thinking to put my name as I am now their step-mom and married to their Dad. Just like I used my name as their mother when we enrolled them for school.

Thanks for your help.

Only 14 years old and above needs the form G325a.

You put their biological mother's name because that is what appeared on their Birth Certificates and you are not their legal Mom yet until you file for an adoption.
