I think they are going to the wrong address.

The should be heading down to where Obama lives or to the Capital, after all when you give

a reckless person money and they act recklessly......who is the person at fault?

PLease people, it is not AIG who is to blame.

These are failed businesses Propped up by our elected leaders, they gave them money and actually put clauses in the agreement which allowed them to honor the bonus program.

Now the story is out and the want AIG to wear the Black-hat.

This is the efficiency of Govt.

Obama PWNED!!!!

Except George gave them the money.

And Obama was a senator that voted for it.

And you live in the US. So by your logic, it's your fault.

That makes no sense. Obama actively voted FOR the first bailout. Twist it anyway you want.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I'm just twisting it like you. The first bailout is on George. What part of that is so hard to understand?

The first bail out is of course on Bush, but if you are suggestion our Reps. are not accountable for every vote they make, ..... then I am really having trouble seeing your avenue of reason.

Obama voted for it.. without reservation. Not only that but he is upping the price tag with his own versions of bail-out.

I more object to his budget/ stimulus plans, than his bailout. So much has everything to do with

growing the social programs with little effect on the immediate economy and death to the future economy.

Of course they are accountable for their votes and of course the first bailout was on George's watch. I am responding to Lucky's view that the bailout is Obama's doing. Yes he voted for it, as did many Republican's, but somehow in his delusional view, it is due to Obama's single vote. And I agree, he owns what bailout has been initiated since he took office. We actually do agree about a few things. :P The biggest difference is, I am willing to give them a chance to work before I pick them apart and doom them to failure before they are even enacted. I don't consider that to be liberal, I consider it to be reasonable. In 6 months I may be here criticizing Obama's actions if they don't work or make matters work. But I will give it a chance first, that's all, and I will want him to be successful for the good of the nation. We are in a real disaster now and it is going to take a huge effort to turn things around. I'm hoping it's not too late.

Do you want a civil war Danno?

Of course no one "wants" a civil war.

Probably not true, but I'll accept that you don't 'want' civil war. Do you see it as inevitable because the current president is set on a course that is 'un-American'?

I would not say Obama is "UnAmerican", even Stalin was very much for Russia, but simply being an "American" does not prevent leaders from taking their countries down paths which lead to breakdown or even destruction.

It may be inevitable, but it didn't start with Obama.

We are creating the perfect storm for civil war.

Stalin was a dictator, at least we have a some checks and balances to our system. As far as civil war here, I think it will take a total collapse of the economy and government for that to be a real threat. Economy wise, it will have to be worse than the Great Depression. People will have to be fighting for food and rioting. The gov, police, military etc will have to lose control of the masses. Chaos will have to reign. Massive groups of resistance must form. Etc, etc. IMHO. Is it possible? Anything is possible. And again, IMHO, it is wise to nip this in the bud, way before it even becomes a remote possibility. It starts with the economy. And the gov is trying to start the process.

How does one create financial stability by use of a credit card?

The first step is to stop digging the hole deeper ....Obama is ordering bigger shovels (on credit).

There is nothing for me to speak against, yet. He really hasn't done a whole lot yet. We'll see soon enough. You started before he was elected. I guess that's honesty.

If we do as you suggest, nothing, then your vision of civil war becomes more of a reality. There have been times when I would agree, gov should butt out. But these are not not those times. It is far darker than a slight downturn. The entire world is on the verge of economic collapse.

They don't get it Danno.

 And you and 5 other people here do. Priceless.

Spooky. You can't even admit Obama voted for the first bailout. You probably don't even know Obama was a US Senator before this gig. :jest:
