Congratulations!! I also went to the delhi embassy today and my CR1 visa was approved. The whole process was pretty fast and comfortable (with the new lounge they have at delhi embassy).

Asked me just 2-3 questions, who's the petitioner? what does she do?when did you get married. And then he's like okay everything looks in order, congratulations your visa is approved. Didn't look at any of my documents, no photos, nothing.

I have a question though, i carried my sealed x-ray with me along with my medical report, however they didn't take the x-ray and didn't even bother to look at it. What am i supposed to do with this x-ray? Can I open it and keep it for my personal records or does the embassy need it down the line. What happened in your wife's case?

hey one more question - they returned all my original docs except the police clearance certificate from DC office and passport office. Is that okay? or do i need those?

congrats first of all!

my wife's interview was way intensive then yours. the guys kept on asking her questions. i think she was the first one to be interviewed after a break or something so the guys was all charged up with energy from the coffee he was drinking :) .

they opened my wife's medical report and kept something out of there in her file. then they returned the file back to her. dont worry about it if they did not open your medical report. but please please please DO NOT open that envolope. make sure you carry it to the port of entry as you may be asked for it there.

as far as the police certificates are concerned, they kept the originals of those with them. so you dont have to worry about it. all they returned back to my wife was our original marriage certificate and her birth certificate.

well they took my medical report too, the sealed envelope. He took out the papers from the envelope and attached 'em to my file. I was asking about the X-ray, they did not take the x-ray. I guess they don't need that. Sorry for the confusion.

My wife just read your post, and she recognized your wife from the questions you have posted...haha...yeah we overheard her interview (oops, sorry for the eavesdropping), it was just before my interview. once your wife got her visa, i got a bit confident that i'll get too, seemed like a happy day at the delhi embassy..haha..
