Hello

My wife went to get PCC From passport office in chandigarh India.. And someone (outside agent) told her that she should add the husband name on back of the passport before she get the PCC.. Tell me if that’s true..

Or should I get the PCC and than add the husband name later, because I want to get PCC Quick

I guess her mother and father name is in the passport

I don't think its a requirement, however I think its just another piece of evidence to help prove your relationship.

Agreed.

I assume she got her passport after being married to you right? So why is your name missing from her biodata page. If you do want to be on the safe side, may be ask her to add your name on her biodata page, she doesn't have to change her last name but biodata page does ask for Spouse's name and given that passport was issued after marriage, your name should have been there.

I agree with that. If the passport was issued after your wedding, then it is likely the question will come up about your name not being in the passport.

hi..

They suggested u becoz on PCC they will write as ...............(name) w/o of..............if some one is married then they wrote husband's name instead of father's name.

i will suggest u to talk to them if she can do both things at same time.. i mean addition o0f husbands name as well as apply for PCC..becoz these 2 procedures take a week.

It doesn't require neither by embassy nor by NVC, so you are fine. I didn't add my wife name too.

but if want to you can add, delhi office takes only 2 to 3 days to fix it. and for pcc 4 hours if average.

I don't know about CHD, so better you call them ans ask them how long they will take it to fix.

New booklet will be issue in this case so 1000+300 is fee with form no2 and attested photocopy of marriage certificate and if you want to change you last name also than you need to give a affidavit too. www.passport.nic.in or passport.gov

regards,

Arun
