:help: hello everyone. My fiance just file my petition thru k1 visa in usa. I work in taiwan from 2004-2007 that is for 3 years as a overseas contract worker. I cameback in philippines last august 2007 then never got a job again. My questions is... Do I need to get police clearance in taiwan to include on my k1 requirments/ if yes, I'm just wondering how can I get if I am already here. I only have my employment certificate from the company I work in taiwan and a ID from the taiwan police which prove that I legally work there for three years. Thanks. God bless.

My wife lived and worked in Indonesia one year. They required ehr to appear in person in Indonesia for the police clearance. I contacted US Embassy Manila and they were of no help, and simply told me I had to figure it out for myself. So I contacted the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, and was put in touch with the Indonesian International Police Officer there. He took care of everything for my wife, and through his contact he got her a police clearance. It cost us over $100, which was far less than airfare to and from Indonesia.

Perhaps you will have success by contacting the Taiwan Embassy in the Philippines. Otherwise, on http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3684.html I see the following requirement:

Previous residents of Taiwan not holding a Taiwan passport may apply for a police certificate by writing to:

Foreign Affairs Division

Taipei Municipal Police Department

No. 96, Yen Ping South Road

Taipei, Taiwan

Applicants should enclose a completed application form (available from Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Offices (TECRO) or Republic of China Embassies). There is a processing fee of US$11.00).

You need to get Police Clearance cuz the embassy will ask if you have lived outside Philippines. And it will also show that in your Bio forms. You have to go Taiwan Consulate in Manila and file for police clearance.

41F, Tower 1, RCBC Plaza,

6819 Ayala Avenue, Makati City 1200,

Metro Manila, Philippines

Phone: (02-63-2) 8876688

P.S. call Taiwan Consulate first and asked the requirements in filing for your police clearance cuz they may need request letter from the US embassy.

God bless
