Hi..

What is the maximum time allowed between the approval of the GC and the first landing in US?? Can u just land and get back? What happen if you are late landing?

What will be approved abroad is a visa. The green card or permanent residency status doesn't begin until you land. You have six months to land. If you land late, expect to start the process again. You may land and immediately leave. Google "maintaining permanent resident status".

Correct, CR-1/IR-1 visa tends to be valid for 6 months after it is issued.

When you enter the USA the officer at POE will stamp passport I-551, this = Green-card. You can then ues that stamp to re-enter the USA.

MOVING this to CR-1/IR-1 forum, you are talking about an IMMIGRANT visa.

K-3 visas do NOT get a green-card for some time after entry to the USA, K-3 needs to apply for the green-card (AOS Plus $1010 FEE) and wait 4 months or longer to get green-card. K-3 IS a multi entry visa though, and IS valid for up to 2 years.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.
