red here

just wondering if there are any preferences from previous vj rs.

also wondering which innoculations are needed for a 55 year old fart.

came to canada from uk 30 years ago , have no record of any jabs here.

medisys staff told me the panel physician makes the call,

would like to have it done before exam.

seems easy to me but they will not tell me whats require.\d

cheers red

I went to medisys on Front St...was cheaper then Seiden

get your GP to give you a tetanus..should be no charge

I got varicella (chicken pox) titre test and the MMR booster...still at no charge

I found a chart somewhere online, can't remember where, that listed what was needed at what age.

I went to Medisys but before I did I visited my GP to explain the situation and took a list of vaccinations they expected me to be current with. I don't recall the URL but Dr. Seidens has a web site which lists the requirements for your medical. (I believe I called the office and they had it on the recording.) Anyway, I received boosters from my GP so I wouldn't have that cost at Medisys.

I also came here from the UK. This is important because if you have ever shown a false positive reaction to a TB test, it is because the UK used to include this in our vaccinations. Make sure your GP mentions this in your vaccination record.

The most important thing to note is that you will be charged for any vaccinations done at the medical examination but those same vaccinations are covered if you get them done by your GP.

Dr. Seiden's is the one on Front Street and, yes, it is a little bit more expensive than Medisys. Medisys was on St Clair Ave W, I believe.

Six of one.. half dozen of the other.. either is fine...

Get antibody titres done by your GP before you go to the medical. You really don't want more jabs than you need to. This way you find out what you really need and then get it for free before you go to the medical and get what you don't need and then pay big $$ for them...

I did Medisys, and I was there a long time as it was so busy - however they answered their phone and gave me a quick appointment. Dr. was super nice and fast, nurse did a terrible job taking blood and left me with a massive bruise when she pierced the vein.

Vaccinations required also are affected by age. If you were innoculated in 1969 as a kid, you avoid most of them. I had Tetanus and MMR.

well thanks gang for your help.

will use dr seiden because the receptionist was just so clear and helpful,

medisys was very abrupt telling me the panel physician makes the call

on which jabs I require.

Dr Seidens clearly stated all I need is Tetanus/diptheria booster.

have arranged to get it at health centre tomorrow

and have 7am at front st monday morn.

185 cash same as medisys, so the helpfull lady helped me to make the decision
