I am 6 months pregnant, and I am going to marry my boyfriend in a month. My future husband is a natural born U.S citizen, and I am currently under a student visa (F-1). I am planning on sending EVERYTHING together, to have less complications. I just want to make sure I include absolutely everything necessary that will help the process be faster. Here is my checklist:

I know I have to include/will include just in case:

  • Check of $355 for the form I-130
  • Check of $1010 for the form I-485
  • 4 passport-like pictures of me
  • 2 passport-like pictures of my husband
  • My birth certificate, translated
  • My husband’s birth certificate
  • Copy of my marriage certificate
  • My last I-94
  • My last I-20 (since I held a student visa)
  • Copy of ALL pages of my passport

Forms that my husband will fill in:

  • I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative)
  • G-325A (Biographic information sheet)
  • I-864 (Affidavit of support **more details, below)

Forms that I will fill in:

  • I-485 (Application to adjust status)
  • I-765 (Work permit application)
  • I-693 (Medical examination)
  • G-325A (Biographic information sheet)

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT, For what I know, we will need:

  • Form I-864 filled in by my husband
  • Form I-864 filled in by a co-sponsor (my husband does not meet money requirements)
  • Proof that my husband is working and how much he earns (letter from his employer?)
  • Proof that my co-sponsor is working, and how much he/she earns (employer letter?)

Evidence to demonstrate a bonafide marriage:

  • A letter from my OB stating that I am pregnant with my husband’s child (if possible?)
  • Ultrasound pictures of my baby (they have my name on it)
  • Random pictures of my husband and I in different places
  • Bank statement of a joint bank account
  • Affidavits from people that know us and know we have a valid marriage

Please, I would appreciate it very much if you guys can think of anything I might be missing or I haven't thought of... give me more ideas to demonstrate a bonafide marriage, tips... Anything! Thank you so very much!

Do you have bills with both your names? Letters sent to you? Car Insurance? Health Insurance? Life policies?

You don't need copies of all pages of your passport: copy front and back of your I-94, biographical page and F-1 entry visa is plenty enough.

Pay stubs and tax returns/transcripts are required for the I-694.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

We don't have any bills at our name or anything that important, we are currently living with my sister, though we plan on moving out soon. I am able to get some letters sent to my name and some send to his name to the same address, will that be good?

What do you mean form I-694? You mean form I-864, the Affidavit of Support?

PS - I am not thinking on leaving the country during my application process, so I am not going to apply for the I-131

Thanks!

I meant I-864 lol, it is starting to get late. Sorry about the confusion...

What about your driver licenses? Do they show the same address? How about having your sister writing an affidavit saying that you are both currently residing at her home?

The driver's license thing is a very good idea! I'll see what my sister says about the affidavit :)

I guess I'll apply for that, since as you said it is free :)
