i wouldn't be too sure thats going to happen. w/ the economy in the state it is in. w/ unemployment claims at a never before seen 5.1 million & growing. and the fact that if an amnesty does go thru it would swell gov't assistance program costs to unreal numbers. states are going broke now, can you imagine what will happen if we add 1-5-10-15-20-25% (pick a # you like) more to the cost of assistance programs? if the dems push an amnesty bill thru...they're done, at the state & federal level.

All good points but Obama can't have millions of potential Democratic voters live in the shadows as illegals. They make 'em citizens and phase in the benefits later. They'll argue illegals paid sales gas , Social Security taxes, serve in the military . . . so we must allow them benefits. What's a few billion more? Don't you want to improve America's image in the world and anyone against is probably a racist so why not do it or at least once the economy recovers somewhat?

So...how does this ambitious goal of the Dims benefit the vast majority of American workers and taxpayers? And if it doesn't benefit the vast majority of America...who does it benefit and why even do it?

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

or the republicans plan to destroy the dems....john mccain as pres nominee???......set up.

:P

Looking at how BobbyJ is not getting all this great press (and not of the liberal type)... I am a little more concerned at the Reps best chances for the next cycle.

But that's OTT on the OT

Bobby J most likely won't be the nominee, he doesn't have the 'something special' to wow the middle. if we do currently know the next rep. nominee....most likely he will be one of the 'out of politics for now' bunch. don't underestimate the reps...especially since we don't know what the next 4 years will bring.

The benefit is a more multicultural nation with more tolerance for all while destructing the traditional white power structure. Screw the workers and taxpayers who, if that can't get it, they're obsolete. The Democrats have been big on immigration and now illegal immigration for some time now. Party allegiances run through families for generations a lot of the time and those given amnesty will give gratitude of the newly enfranchised voters to the party that hooks the up. The GOP tried that and fought each other over it. The Democrats have no scruples on this issue and will gladly take votes from anyone regardless of citizenship.

I am puzzled by this notion that the GOP are more discriminatory in who they allow to vote for them. Please, tell me more. I might like to join this illustrious group when I gain citizenship.

Is it also true that you are suggesting that Democrats somehow allow citizens from other countries to vote for them and GOP candidates don't? How does that work, exactly?

The officers should take them out back and shoot them.

You know, to prove that they aren't informants for the gangs.

It truly must be with the help of divine intervention that after entering into this well-defined bureaucratic process, we were blessed with the expected outcome within the predefined timeline. Praise deities!

I somehow doubt you'll be voting for GOP candidates given your track record.

If those coming here were voting for the GOP you'd see the Democrats finding ways to keep their numbers down. Check the movie Gangs of New York how the patronage system worked in the 1860s. Most illegal immigrants make less money than citizens (or legal immigrants); therefore, government handouts to amnesty grantees cements the relationship. Their was little debate among Democrats on amnesty because they know they'll rake in the votes.

My 'track record'? I can't imagine what you think that is. I have never been a member of any political party and have voted for people all persuasions, but thanks for your 'insight' into my 'track record'.

 As for your reasoning, that's, well hysterical. Thank you for making me laugh. I will of course have to rent out Gangs of New York to understand better the US political system

So what would persuade you to vote Republican based on their party platform?

Since you didn't elaborate on what made you laugh nor know the background of the movie, I'll assume your given to laughing at almost anything.

Mine's around 200+ movies in my queue. Last night I saw Luis Buñuels Exterminating Angel . High rating but too avant guard and dated. Check out Rottentomatoes.com for rating but the movie I saw was given a 100% so it's no guarantee.

Loaded questions will not get accurate answers Alien.

I would vote for a Republican if they were the best candidate for the post they were going up for, it's really that simple.

I laugh at a lot of things, there is only one criteria required, that it's funny.

The only wrinkle in your view of American history and immigration is that America is a 21st century modern welfare state. Sounds like your dream vision of America will turn out to really be a nightmare of uncontrollable immigration (legal & illegal) mostly from the third world that will bankrupt the country and eventually crash and burn. But at least the USA will become an overpopulated one party third world nation ruled by the Dims. Oh, joy! And America will be a better place for it...not!

What are you blathering on about man? Seriously, you keep spouting off about this and that, but it bears no relation to what I think or believe. I doubt you ever bother to actually read what is written, but just continue your little internal dialogue of how the ###### hippies have ruined everything :)
