Manila Embassy Interview

sorry you guys, but my case is in review too

if AR means getting a white sheet with "Please wait to hear from us etc etc" ticked on it, then that's where I'm at...got a pink slip with that too for paying the visa delivery fee and i paid that so i'm still hoping to get the visa...the embassy did not return any documents to me, not even the pictures...i was not told anything but to wait for either a letter of instruction from the embassy or the actual visa itself...no timeframe was given tho

Anyhow PW, welcome back!

I hope the next batch will have better luck!

Way to go Andrea!

Hey Jeeleebee and feelinblue, let us know the status of your interview. We're all hoping for a big OK for you as we've seen way too many ARs already.

Oh my goodness! Sorry to hear about that Jeeleebee. I hope that it's only a minor issue that can be resolved in a matter of days. Based on the consul's questions and interview, can you think of a reason what caused the AR? Age difference? Suspicion on civil status? Oh, this is so sad.

I was also given the pink slip and other forms for the delivery of the visa but I did not pay the delivery fee since I knew I was on AR. I asked the girl at the counter if I could pay the fee after I submit the document required from me and she said yes. It says in the forms that in case the visa is denied, the delivery fee will be refunded. Oh my, which means that paying the delivery fee is not a guarantee that visa will be approved.

To those who are awaiting interview, don't let the ARs affect you. Each is a different case and everything is decided based on what you submitted and the merits of the case. Keep the love alive and burning!

Updated to add interview result of Jeeleebee.

In light of all the AR's being recieved lately, perhaps someone should post a list of things to make sure you do in case a person recieves an AR. What i think would be helpful is a list of questions.

1) AM i on administrative review?

2) may i ask why?

3) is there anything i can do to correct it right away?

does anyone have any suggestions. I am asking so others can be prepared in case they are given a white sheet of paper, or is it pink, or whatever color. I just have trouble believe that people are put on AR without even realizing it until they are already done with the interview. SHould a fiancee be forceful and demand to know the cause of the AR and what she can do about it? As i said any ideas or suggestions would be good. Perhaps those put on AR can tell us all what was said to them at interview.

thanks all.

PS - Good to have you back PW, sorry you are not yet planing your flight to be with your loved one yet.

It's not in the nature of Filipina women to be forceful and demanding but I think Rye that your suggested list of questions in case of AR are good ones.

I posted the reason for my AR in an earlier post. The AR was all my fault.

The consul instructed me what I needed to do but did not tell me how much time I had to complete my papers so I had to ask him. They usually give a one year grace period.

Hey PW, I'm glad you're back and blooming in-love :D

Hey guys! At last I had my medical out of the way  !!! I got the result today!

One question. I know this may sound a non-sense question but I'll give it a try. Is ALIAS different from a NICK NAME? I use my nick name a lot.. but not on offical and legal documents of course. Even our wedding invitation, package covers, snail mails, e-mails etc show my nick name. Comments from anyone? :)

Is he going to need any papers on the day of the medical besides letter from NVC with his case #?

Hi Caillen, here are the things your fiance need to bring on his medical:

1.) Appointment letter (You can get it from Counter F, ground floor, get a number first from the guard)

2.) Photocopy of appointment letter

3.) Money ($95 in peso value)

4.) 3 2x2 picture (The other two will be collected the second day)

5.) Passport

6.) Black pen

7.) Medical records

8.) Recent x-ray

9.) THE HEART OF HONESTY

No. SLME stopped collecting Visa requirements since March 2005. But they will get your fiance's passport and they are the one who will forward it to the US Embassy.

Wonderful day to everyone!

Hi PatientlyWaiting,

Glad to hear you come back and enjoyed ur vacation... i just have question if you may...

After medical was turned my passport @ st. lukes for them to forward it to embassy... could i still attend the seminar & possibly received certificates from COW without my passport in my hand??? but ive got clear copy of my passport can i just use that???

Reason why im asking si dat, interview result is unknown specially when u got AR and still unknown whenever you got get back ur passport with visa. As i knew ur passport with visa is needed for stamping from CFO.

Secondly..... i hopefully doesnt received AR as well if the error was made by the embassy, bcos im wondering that i received my 2 appointment letter copies and seen that they mistype the name & birthday of my son, does will affect our interview result for AR?? Bcos i cant remember i or my fiance mistakingly write my son name wronglyin I-129F or in G235 forms, If ever we do is there a certain affidavit to do dat to correct? :help: just very confused about the typo errors.

thanks so much...

My Fiancee finally got to file for her BC correction, so many requirements in a country that is bad at keeping records and even worse at charging corrupt prices for documents. I'll share a few storys of many. She needed a college transcript so she went there to get it and they wouldn't give her a copy without paying 3 years of Alumni fees! Then she needed a copy of her moms baptismal cert. but she wasn't a catholic anymore so they wouldn't give her a copy! Bawo, very nerve racking. Anyways, they gave us a 3-4 month window to complete the correction. Hopefully they will approve the BC in Manila without any problems. :innocent::clock:

Sorry PW, i haven't been on her much to update stuff.

Hey Jeeleebee and feelinblue, let us know the status of your interview. We're all hoping for a big OK for you as we've seen way too many ARs already.

Sad to say, I am also in AR for a reason that I don't know. The interview went really quick and the consul was even smiling. Asked me if i got married, i said no...then he asked if we're getting married and i said yes and he asked when; my answer is on April (need to prepare for the ceremony when i get to US)...after that he gave me back all my docs then asked me to wait for my number. I was happy to see the pink slip, but was surprised to see the white paper indicating "wait until you hear from us" they are not asking any docs from me though.

I am really sad now. I was hoping I will be in US sooner. I hope and pray that I will get my visa soon.

Hello Rebel,

You may attend CFO seminar without passport and visa. Here are the requirements:

1) 2 valid IDs (accepted IDs are: orig. driver's license, orig. NBI clearance, birth certificate on NSO paper)

2) Registration form (available at CFO)

3) P250 for registration fee

4) P250 CFO sticker fee (to be attached to passport after visa issuance)

If passport and visa are available, here are the requirements

1) Original passport

2) Original and photocopy of visa

3) 1 valid ID

4) Original CFO guidelines and certificate (to be given after CFO seminar)

5) Registration form

6) P250 for registration fee

7) P250 for CFO sticker

For fiancees, we need to go to this address:

St. Mary's Euphrasia

Good Shepherd

1043 Aurora Blvd.

Quezon City

tel. 911-1814

(beside LRT 2 North Katipunan station)

For minor children, they need to be registered at CFO's other address located at:

Citigold Tower

1345 Quirino Avenue corner South Super Highway

Paco, Manila

Philippines

tel. 561-8321

I've noticed from several postings that ladies who attend the CFO before visa issuance are required to submit more documents and are given a harder time than those who have their visas already stamped in their passports. As for me, I will not attend CFO seminar until I get my visa.

Regarding the errors, it could be a cause for AR if it was you or your fiance who gave the wrong info. You may be required to submit an Affidavit of Discrepancy and other documents. If the error was made by the embassy, then I guess you would have no problem as they can correct their record internally. Just be sure that you and your fiance are faultless before saying that it was them who committed the error.

Hope this helps.

PW

Oh, feelinblue, so sorry to hear about your AR. I hope you don't have to wait long before you hear from them. Looks like our AR list is getting longer. JoyTim and Borninabarn/Honesty29 are very fortunate, lucky dudes!

Hey Greg2005, make that an OK/APPROVED interview tomorrow. We need a morale booster here.

ok i spoke to sandy at the embassy ( the only person that has a clue) she says that age is a big reason for ARs . 90% of the reason for the AR's is the interviewers discreation. i looked on the web and if you search on google & yahoo type " manila and admin reviews" you'll see in other forums that even in 2003 this was an issue.

by the way she (sandy) had no idea about this forum ,and her no# being posted. i invited her to check it out she was very amused. hopefully she may post here, but i doubt she will.

ive told yovemyl (my fiancee) to get everything she can get just in case... her mothers an fathers birth certificates and marriage certificate letters of reference from her pastor baptism records etc etc... she may not need it, but better to have all bases covered.

Hoping you both get a sooner reply for wat u still need with that AR. God bless!

JOSE,

Hi just read that your fiancee have the same interview schedule as of mine, wat is the exact time of her appointment???? anyway i am scheduled by 7am, same date. If Helen wont mind, would be gladly to meet & befriend with on that day. Anyway im attending the interview with my fiance and my son, called the embassy if i could not bring my 4yrs old son but been advised that every person included in petition should be present at the interview.

Hope to get acquianted with helen - she cud text me #09173270036, enjoying being together at the same day on that much awaited interview day, as for all of us doing so, wanting to get approvals only a way to be with our love ones already.

regards, :)
