longest case ever, now NVC case complete but there seems to be a problem

Our file was completed (finally) last week. I called them and confirmed that the file was complete. Now I get a letter a few days later stating that we need the police clearance from the local passport office. But they completed the case anyway??? How is that possible? The I call back and they tell me to disregard. But it had a date from this week and the case was completed last week. So I call again and they tell me that my hubby is going to have the police clearance for his interview (even though weve sent it twice). But then I asked them when will the file be forwarded to the embassy in India and they tell me when he gets his interview date.

how can he get an interview date without the file being forwarded? I DONT get this. How does india know his file is complete if they havent forwarded it? They also said they couldnt send anything w.o an interview date from India? How does this work? Im running impatient here this case is from August 2007!!!!!!

hey, sorry you've had to go through so much with this case. To answer your question though, I think there are a few countries in which NVC schedules the interview date for although I don't know if India is one of them. Basically I think how it works is that once the interview date is scheduled by NVC, they will send all of your documents to the embassy. But make sure no matter what that he has a copy of everything you sent to NVC, including his police certificate. I hear that having your police certificate at the time of the interview may decrease the chance of having to go through AP. Good luck!

Relax....If your case is complete...you will get an interview in the 2nd week of March....I suggest that you ask your husband to take a copy of PCC and all other Certificates with him at the time of interview

Agreed, make sure if you have the PCCs and all other certificates at the interview. If you didn't send NVC the originals, make sure you take the originals.
