I am planning to go to the UK in May, but due to financial reasons, I am only now sending my advanced parol and AOS documents. I noticed on the form, that you can collect the advanced parol from your local embassy when in another country. Can I do this if I am in the US at the time of applying? It is not a pressing issue, as the dates are flexible, and it is OK if I have to wait in the UK for it longer than expected.... so would be great if I can do this, and leave sooner than I will if I have to wait.

Thanks for you thoughts!

A few other questions....

When applying for advance parol, it asks for you to write a separate paper, explaining stuff... what did people put here, when on "out of status" K1 visas?

If I choose "more than one trip" as oppose to "just one trip", will this make any difference.... processing time, POE ease, etc ?

Thanks!

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Ireland

My understanding is that the I131 file is used for many different uses and filers, from refugees to AOSers. That's why the questions often seem strange to people filing for regular AP.

For the K1 AP, you need to have it before leaving the US. My understanding is that the ability to pick up at US embassy pertains to some of the other filers.

We just wrote "I wish to apply for advance parole and obtain the necessary permission to travel to my home country prior to receipt of permanent residency status in the event of emergency or family illness. I do not have any specific plans to travel at this time." Again this section is more for other applicants who may need a specific reason to leave.

As far as I know there is no difference at all for delay or POE processing of a multiple entry AP vs a single entry.
