hello,

my case is still at NVC stucked in administrative processing. However, the NOA2 i received will expire this may 2009. Would it be okay if I complete my medical next week while waiting for my case to be sent here in Manila from the NVC? I'm really thinking that just in case we would have to do the sputum test that takes 2 months, I have ample time before my approved petition expires. Also, I wanted to do this medical next week March 2 and 3 since medical here in the Philippines takes 2 days, and that is the only best time for my 6 yr old kid to be absent from her school compared to the next coming weeks as it will be her examinations week already. Any input will be best appreciated. thank you.

Because you are in AP it's very likely that the Embassy will extend the period of validity of your approved petition so that should not be a concern. However, you should at least contact DOS or Manilla to be sure they are on top of it.

In regards to the medical, this is a Country specific question. Some Embassies want the hardcopy I-797 (noa2) in hand before you have your medical because the Panel Physician will send your info directly to the Embassy and if they have no paperwork on you yet they wont know what to do with the results. I'm sure someone more familiar with PI medicals will chime in.

good luck
