If, like us, you consulted Wiki,

You can add to Wiki if you like. I just took a wild shot at 10 billion years, fingers faster than my brain, more like the estimated age of our solar system. But some estimate the size of our universe to be around 156 billion light years wide which requires more explaining for the big bang forming the universe some odd 13 billion years ago. But again the laws of physics as we understand them today, didn't exist until the universe was formed, or partially formed, or whatever.

Ha, rather deal with quantum mechanics, makes me feel much larger, but still not to shovel snow even with the realization that it is 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% space.

Why can't they cure the common cold?

How about if we all promise to take a shot of any alcoholic beverage every time you type 'Ha' j/k

Remember that quantum mechanics has plenty of competition from newer theories like strings and threads.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

It is not so much competition, but rather completeness and, I use the term loosely, simplicity. Any model works, as long as it accounts for what we observe.

Newton's physics can explain nearly anything you might encounter in the physical world. Quantum mechanics explains many of the electronic gadgets we take for granted today. String theory has some elogance that appeals to Mathematicians, and probably nobody else. So that debate will continue. We are still looking for that Unified Field Theory, one simple equation that would explain all of creation.

Some self-proclaimed shamans, I have encountered, say they already know that answer. Who am I to tell them they are wrong? Especially when they are flying high on psychedelics!

Ha, have to say ha so people know I am joking, as my humor is sometimes to deep and not recognized as so. Do I get to take a shot too?

That may be the case. Lest we all remember our cat:

Setting science aside for a moment, does anyone believe the universe is endless? Similar to the theory that the Earth was flat several centuries ago? Given that our deep space exploration abilities are very limited, aside from the Hubble telescope, how much more is actually out there?

If one could travel in a space vehicle in any random direction, would there be an end?

A thought to ponder.

Hmmm... seriously... I don't think that would be all that relevant. Scientific concepts aside... the universe is likely not as singular as we may think it to be in terms of having limits. But who really knows?

All I can say is 42.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

William, when asking such questions please post them in the "Do you smoke weed?" thread. Thank you for your cooperation.

I don't smoke weed....but I do ponder this concept from time to time....After that, I think about containable concepts like the economy, bills, employment stability and so forth...

 Me neither...and I'm like you that way...like to ponder. :)
