Congratulations to you.

This makes me even more paranoid. Did they lose our app or are we under review?

Hi Married_my_love,

If you're concerned, you should call customer service and ask. Better be safe than sorry. May be push them a little bit, not too hard though. From the reading on this forum, some people got their approval letter in mail but case status online never changed. So better call them to find out, may be you're already approved but somehow the approval letter was lost in the mail?

Thanks - I know they're going to say the processing time is blah blah blah. It has been 4 months so technically I don't even have a right to call and say it is late as the processing shows 6 months online. Dang!!

Well... You sure do have right to call, just ask them for the status to see if it shows pending on their end. Just a simple inquiry, they won't say anything.

Raj0000, I received email from CRIS but it was not what i was expecting:

Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 20, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

The weird thing is, I received the approval letter already on Feb. 14, Aren't they supposed to email me that they ordered the card?

No idea Wichita - I never got the approval letter like that - only the email saying my card production had been ordered! Kind of backward - I guess they do different things depending on what they feel like, huh? Some people get approval letters in the mail (not me), some get approval emails, some get this and that. Personally, I always had a hard time finding out what was going on with my case because they mucked up my case number at the beginning and transferred all of the information to a completely different database lol - one the reps couldn't access, so I always had to be transferred to a supervisor with access to the correct database in order to find out a darn thing about what was going on, which in the end was always "being processed still"...lol

The news for me is still sinking in! I won't know if I will believe it properly until I see the card with an expiration date of 2019 on it arrive in my hand lol :D

But anyway, people who are concerned about the time frame, take a look at my time line - I submitted my packed in February or LAST year, 2008, and it took them until now to approve my case. Practically a full year. But, I still didn't have an interview, so I guess it just goes to show that nothing is as you expect, sometimes :)

*HUGS* XXX

The weird thing is, I received the approval letter already on Feb. 14, Aren't they supposed to email me that they ordered the card?

Unfortunately, there is nothing weird about it. Their online system is not exactly reliable and it is not uncommon for email notifications to be delayed for several weeks.

Here is a little story from my AOS days. I received an interview appointment. A few weeks afterwards I received another notice, canceling the appointment. Then, another interview appointment. Approximately a week before the second appointment, I received an email, canceling the interview. It took me a couple of days to realize that the email was about my first interview, and was simply delayed by a month or so! Had I believed the email, my application would have been considered abandoned and I would have been in deep trouble.
