so who here has money in the stock market? if you do, and it's in diversified funds, chances are you have stock in the mortgages you are discussing.

so now it seems like a good idea to advise people to obstruct the mortgage holder's actions to recover property you have invested in? that's how it works, folks. it's you that owns that house, even though you can't see it through the fat cat middlemen between you and that delinquent homebuyer.

as a conservative person who has never spent money he couldn't afford to spend, or borrowed money he couldn't afford to pay back, i have little tolerance for this #######. if my tax dollars are being used to "bail out" homeowners across the country, how come i can't be one of them? oh, that's right, i was responsible.

If the alternative is homelessness, bankruptcy, wage garnishment, and ruined credit - pretty much anything is fair I'd say.

I can agree with this to a point.

But, if it's a case where they received a loan for a house they really couldnt afford, then the homeowner shares as much blame as the predatory lender. thats just MHO.

I can't imagine that a person is going to sit back and say "yeah I deserve to be homeless" :)

No one "deserves" to be homeless. They just arent an "innocent" victim of the economic crisis, that's why I said I agree to a point. (in the scenario above)

Also, I dont think homelessness is the only alternative, yes ruined credit and having to "downsize" into an apt ect ect.

But, if the banks would be wiling to take lower payments for a while and just work with people(god forbid)...that would be a win win.

I feel bad for anyone in this situation, I just have less sympathy for people who put themselves in said situation.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

You mean like that HGTV realtor show, buy a house for a 100K, get the realtor in for suggestions, put in another 30K and sell your home for 500K? Are people that dumb? I mean the buyers, most of these mods are only skin deep. Can't people read a contract before signing it?

Ha, only followed through on a couple homes I was outbidded on, new owner not only had steep mortgage payments, but a pile of ####### that needed lot's of repair. You really don't get what you pay for today.
