Well, first of all let me say thanks in advance.. My name is Walter, I have been here in the Good Ol USA since 1993..On February 5, 2001 My brother filed a I130 which is immigrant petition for relative which is me. We received a Notice of Action letter from the U.S. Department of justice on july 11, 2001 which included the notice type: approval notice section sister or brother of U.S citizen, 203(a) (4) INA... basically it says the petition was approved but i was not eligable at the time of notice to file an adjustment or status application at that time, im still living here in the USA and have been patiently waiting but wanted to educate myself a little bit more so i would be prepared when the time came for adjustment approval.. Being only 22 years old, i have been waiting and waiting and still have not gotten any info from the INS so i have turned to this site to see if i can find the answers that i need..thanks

Another thing i forgot to mention was that we went to the mexican consulate and was told that for brother/sister there was a 10 year period for waiting time, which i think thats why it says that i was not eligable for AOS at that time, do you guys think that 8 years later i might be eligable.?

Well, I know i had my mexican visa, but as of now i dont know of any other visa i might have, unless im mistaken.. my question is for brother to brother adjustment of status, do you really have to wait 10 years for the adjustment, is there anyway i can apply for a working permit or something like that?
