Now go back to the topic. Preferably tax return has to be IRS transcript, it's true that no where in the instructions said it has to be, but that's called "official" and USCIS can't call it into question. Obviously you print out from H&R Block and they don't like it. So when you request the transcript from IRS, better request two, because I would send the original to USCIS so there is nothing they can criticize about (just my two cents and although on the instructions said the document doesn't have to be original, I won't get mad at you even if you don't follow) and keep another original for yourself. Again just in case or to be on the safe side.

I didn't bother ordering the tax transcripts so I sent them copies of the e-filed Tax returns but also sent the turbotax emails showing the federal gov received it and also copies of the bank statements showing the return deposited to our joint bank account. We'll see what happens...

Good luck P&A. I'd send everything again and then recent to show "ongoing". I definitely think it was lost or someone had a bad day and took it out on you.

Yep not including Joint tax returns will get you a RFE they are a must. As there has been such a big backlog of applications it is no wonder it has taken they this long to request the information you failed to include when you filed.

I am sure once they get the information you will get your approval very quickly.

I did not include joint tax returns or any tax returns at all and didn't get an RFE.

Hi Everyone,

Likewise, I didn't send any tax returns at all for the I-751, and I didn't get an RFE and my case was approved...

I also didn't send any tax returns for my current N-400 case either.

Certain situations don't require tax returns (very rare though, and yes, it is legal...). Just provide an explaination if you are in that "unique situation" too.

Good luck with your immigration journeys as well.

Hi,

We just had the same situation. We filed our I751 on February to the VSC, we had the biometrics and everything. On July we received the blue letter saying the evidence we sent it wasn't enough.

I know how you feel!!!!!!

On August 14 we sent the more evidence responding to the RFE. I had to buy a box to fit all the documentation. We sent all the papers we already sent. Even though the letter stated to don’t re-send the documentation we already sent. My husband suspected that they lost the papers. Moreover we added more evidence thing we didn't sent at the first time such us:

• Copies of passports and green card

• Three sworn affidavits by U.S. citizens, both friends and family.

• Copy of tax statement for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

• A copy of lease agreements for years 2007, 2008 and 2009. Also, a letter from the leasing office stating we have lived jointly from 2007 to present.

• A copy of car insurances and letter from Insurance agent stating proof of insurance.

• A copy of car titles showing joint ownership.

• Copies of bank statements from joint checking account.

• Copies 401k listing each other as beneficiaries.

• Copy of anniversary card .

• Copies of scattered mail from 2006-2009 under our names, same address (not joint).

• Copies of call logs showing regular conversations.

• Pictures of us together with family and friends.

On August 14 I had to travel overseas for work with an expired green card and the Notice of action. I didn't have any problem to re-enter the country

On September 26 we received the approval letter without interview.

I hope this help
