I am in love with Jack in the Box breakfast selection. I actually went out at midnight a few times just to get a breakfast jack. But restaurant...probably Cracker Barrel (?) in Lawton, Oklahoma?

Nooo, he's not stationed in Lawton and thank god for that. I say this because everyone seems to hoard around the Wal-mart and I got lost trying to find a road. He was in Fort Sill for basic training, but he's stationed in El Paso right now at Fort Bliss. And god, how I loved the accents in Oklahoma.

Joes Crack shack I'm not impressed with. I'm a huge seafood person, so I eat it several times a week at home (octopus, cuddlefish, clams, squid etc). Red Lobster is far better then Joe's is. They're food is kind of more like a Long John Silvers fast food style seafood rather then the good style. Plus too much of it seems to be fried which I despise in my seafood (other the odd fried squid as an appetizer, but that's it)...

Are you telling me you don't like the cocaine-laced "catch of the day"?

We don't really do the chains much with living right in the city. The exceptions would be Gino's East for stuffed pizza and Trader Vic's is fun for some strong wacky drinks if you are feeling spendy.

Chicago Favorites (so far, having not moved there yet):

Breakfast - White Palace Grill -- they make a fantastic skillet that is covered in chili and melted cheese! Best hang-over medication ever, combined with a chocolate milkshake :D

Mexican - Tacalitlan -- this might be my overall favorite so far!

Chinese - Evergreen

Romantic - The Tasting Room - had some really fun nights there! You can spend several hours trying different combinations of wine with food bites if you order a couple of flights, along with a cheese flight and 2 or 3 appies

Sushi - Sushi Wabi -- not big on atmosphere but excellent fish!

Burgers - gotta say Billy Goat just because it's a lot of fun and some great people/tourist watching :D

There's a Joes' Crab Shack here in Sacramento.... it's a fun place to visit, but I have never been impressed with their food. Most is deep fried seafood... so it's not so great. I agree that Red Lobster is far better for seafood.

:star:

I some how totally forgot Panda Express!

Claudeth is back on the Panda Express train. I think she had it four times last week

I just realized you are from Santa Ana....are you still there? Thats where I'm going to end up!

On a questioning note - anyone had good experiances with Joe's crab shack? Wes said he wants to take me there, glanced at their site online and it looks yummy. Just wondering if anyone here had been there.

I am most definitely a food #######.

Each town, I find a few gems.

Love Five Guys (anywhere they are), and of course Blackies (http://bostonblackies.com/) for burgers in Chicago. Huge and delicious.

Here just off the top of my head, my favourite for the food, the staff, the ambiance, the most amazing lemonade I have ever had!

I don't even drink lemonade. Here the homemade, freshly squeezed kind with a touch of real maple syrup. YUMMMMMMMMMM....

Do order the Equilibrium pizza if you ever find yourself in Portland, Maine.
