i called and the DOS is closed today? hmm.

no big deal, helps me practice being patient.

Isn't it closed on Wednesdays and public holidays or something...? I could be wrong, but for some reason, I'm thinking that it's closed on that day.

I usually loathe rats (sorry  ) But that teddy bear one is simply adorable.

Lol, I've kept rats for over 10 years. I miss having them as I don't have any at the moment :(

You can keep Sugar Gliders at pets? Want..one..

I think I will just admire them for afar...

I am not an animal-oriented person... I am afraid/ squeamish of cats, dogs, rats, hamsters, crabs, frogs, lizards, parrots...basically almost anything other than: squirrels, pigeons, most house insects, or everyday insects in Illinois

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I've been looking thru this thread & can't find the page that tells me how to DHL track our file from NVC. How do you do it?

I'm told NVC sent our case on 5th March but we're a bit worried as my fiance hasn't received a letter from NVC.

Thanks peeps.

We posted only a few things about this...I couldnt find my post on how i found it. But here is what I found. If you know the date the NVC sent your petition to the embassy...put that address in after EXP .... You will not know EXACTLY what one is yours....but you can guess.

Tracking Tips:

You can track your package from NVC by using DHL's website. Once NVC tells you when the package was sent, you can go to DHL's website and "track by reference." You type in EXP FEB 10 (or whatever the sent date was) and it will bring up a whole list of items sent by the NVC that day. It's a bit of guesswork, but since only one package was sent to the UK on the day the NVC said they sent it, I can somewhat safely assume those are our documents. (Credit goes to Terri and Seb for giving me this tip)

Bentnick Mansions is about a ten minute walk from the embassy.

The receptionist is better looking than she is polite, but from there I saw an Australian Dr. (she was lovely), a radiographer who was a nice guy, and then another female doctor for the medical bit and she was fine, just businesslike. In and out within 45 minutes I would say.

There are two locations for medicals. From the Embassy Website

The medical examination is performed at one of two medical centers in London. The medical examination cannot be performed by the applicant's own physician.

It's been mentioned a few times that for US immigration medicals are only done at the Bentinck Street location even though the website says otherwise. They do medicals for other countries too so maybe their website is generic.

I just found this whilst booking some travel at work (the site also deals with visas):

'The US Embassy is going to be closed between Monday 30th March and Friday 03 April..'

Doesn't give a reason why though.

US visa medicals are only done at the Bentinck Mansions site -- ignore the Embassy website. I have not only had it from the horse's mouth when we booked my husband's (I asked if we could go to Basil Street, since it was more convenient for us), no one on this site in the nearly 2 years since he had his medical has ever reported going to Basil Street.

The Embassy website is hopelessly out-of-date in places. Last year they didn't update the new procedure for police certificate for a while, nor the new HPV vaccination requirements, and people got shafted.
