Hi everyone- Thanks in advance for any answers.

I have received the NOA2 dated for Nov 13, 2008 and my fiance' is apply thru London embassy.

He sent in all forms in packet 3 but for his police certificate. We also have a complication due to his only having legal right to remain in UK (He is waiting for approval from the embassy to use his TD as form of ID at medical).

So we are doing alot of waiting for answers are are concerned that the waiting will send us past the Mar 13, 2009 date. I phoned the travel state dept regarding this and the gentlemen on the phone said that this date is for the USCIS and doesn't have anything to do with embassy. He said its from a few steps ago and the case is open and to be patienet. (yeah right)

I get the impression from this site that the date does have to do with the whole process. From approval to interview. Does anyone know more info on the specifics on this date?

Thanks-

White Cow

If by in the response, they meant they are not bound or mandated to perform the interview before the expiration date, then I suppose it is correct because they can routinely extend this validity period as they need....

YMMV

The NOA2/I-797 has a validity date of 120 days/4 months.

The Embassy does often routinely extend this date but if the cause is due to your not having everything needed you will need to contact them to request an extension.
