Right now you are in normal security checks since you are coming from a T country. The information below comes from a lawyer that wrote an article on immigration.

4 Although it is classified, the list of countries reportedly affected

by these restrictions includes, but is not limited to, Afghanistan,

Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt,

Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya,

Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia,

Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates,

and Yemen.

Per the FAM guides which is a guide for issuing visa's it states that

[9 FAM 406 AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR NAME

CHECKS

(TL:VISA-272; 05-09-2001)

Unless otherwise specified in the "Special Clearance and Issuance

Procedures" for the country in question, name checks, when required, must

be conducted only on applicants between the ages of 16 and 80./quote]

Anyone that is wanting to immigrate to the USA has to have checks done on them.

Quote: At Consular stage, there are three (3) Visa Security name checks done: CONDOR, MANTIS AND MORE ANOTHER NCIC (via CLASS)

[Consulate has option, if warranted, to run full gamut of checks, such as CCD (past visa applications & results), TIPOFF (DOS Bureau of Intelligence), NAILS (Nat'l Automated Immigration Lookout System), TECS II (Treasury Dept. database), TSC & TTIC (DOS Terrorist screening)]. http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.co...eRevie w.html

These are just the three main one and there are many more checks that can be asked for if they are needing to check the education or job fields. The CO can ask for a few or many checks depending on what they are wanting to check before they decide on issuing a visa.

This information is for reference only and you are not to contact these agencies and this is also from an immigration lawyer.

Try and relax and take it one day at a time and just realize you are in normal security checks. Checks can take any amount of time from days, weeks, months, etc. Good luck on your AP not being too long.

Please read his post and I highlighted part of it in the bold.

sent this papers already 25 jan and they get this 26 jan morning and they send me this papers back with my passport again 27 jan morning without

He can resend the papers if he wants; only the tax papers and not the passport. I do not know why they were sent back to him with the passport but the embassy does or does not hold the passport depending on the CO. Once they are ready to continue his processing they would ask him to return with his passport or have it sent via a courier.

This is why when he said they were submitted and returned that he is in normal AP.

Cairo Embassy is a mess. Period.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
