Dear All,

Is there anyone here from Indonesia and also file CR-1/IR-1? I'd like to ask about the DS-230 form. I read on www.usembassyjakarta.gov and there are informations that made me confuse.. They said:

STEP TWO: Gather the required documents and prepare for the IV interview

Once the approved petition has been received at the IV unit from the National Visa Center [or has been approved at the Embassy if filed in person], you will receive the “Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants” with a list of the documents the intending immigrant (your immediate relative) must present at the immigrant visa interview.

Please ensure you complete Form DS-230, part I and II and return it to the Embassy as soon as possible so that we can begin the required internal administrative processing; The IV unit will schedule the final visa interview;

http://199.236.85.158/consular/IVIMMEDIATE.html

Does it mean, I, the beneficiary will receive the DS-230 (packet 4) and after I fill out all the forms all I need to do is just send the form back and other required docs to US embassy in Jakarta?

Thanks in advance.

your question is not very clear. what are you confused about? you want to know where to send it?

when i filed my petition, i always sent it to NVC. but maybe your case is different. when you receive the package it should tell you where to send it. just follow the instruction there.

if you havent received the package, you can save time by collecting all the documents that you need from now. you can find out about it on the internet. that way, when you finally receive the package, you can just send it rightaway. it should have an envelope in it already. so you can just use that envelope.

ifyou have any questions, you can email the IV department in US embassy in jakarta. they always reply, although they are ot always very helpful. you can also email the NVC> they also reply your email.

i hope that helps, good luck.

Hello,

Is your spouse in Indonesia or US? Maybe the information from the US embassy website is for Direct Consular Filling, which for US citizen resident in Indonesia.

Dear Bean and Stevai,

Thanks for your replies.. I just received an email from US embassy in Jakarta, and just like what Stevai said, the information at US embassy website is for DCF.

Here is the copy of their email:

A. Filing at US Embassy Jakarta

U.S. citizen petitioners who have been resident in Indonesia or Timor Leste continuously for the past six months and have had permission to do so are eligible to file an I-130 petition for an immediate relative at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. Please note that the Consulate General in Surabaya does not accept I-130 petitions, nor do they conduct immigrant visa processing or interviews. Individuals who are in Indonesia or Timor Leste on a temporary status, such as student or tourist, do not meet the residency standard. The U.S. citizen petitioner must make a personal appearance at the Embassy to file a petition in Indonesia.

Once the petition has been approved at the Embassy if filed in person, you will receive the “Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants” with a list of the documents the intending immigrant (your immediate relative) must present at the immigrant visa interview.

Please ensure you complete Form DS-230, part I and II and return it to the Embassy as soon as possible so that we can begin the required internal administrative processing; The IV unit will schedule the final visa interview;

B. Filing in the U.S.

U.S. citizen petitioners who are resident in the U.S. may file for their immediate relative by mail with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) domestic service center having jurisdiction over their U.S. residence. There are four USCIS domestic service centers. Please visit the USCIS website for instructions and further information regarding filing: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

The fee to file the I-130 is USD 355. (subject to change)

After the immigrant petition has been approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the petition is forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing . NVC plays an important role in the next steps of the U.S. immigration process. NVC provides instructions to petitioners and sponsors, and receives from sponsors, the required Affidavit of Support forms, fees, other required documents, and much more. For more information regarding NVC role, please visit: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrant...rants_1340.html

Ok, now I'm not confuse anymore.. Thanks again guys for your replies.
