hello VJ peeps,

It's been a long time, but we just received a letter from USCIS:

REQUEST FOR APPLICATION TO APPEAR FOR INITIAL INTERVIEW

CASE TYPE: FORM I-485

On: WEDNESDAY, MARCh 04, 09

1 Sorry, but what does that mean? how about the i130? will we have to do another interview for that?

2 What exactly happens after that interview, because we are supposed to leave the country 2 days after the interview for 4 days, is that dangerous? will they take the advance parol from us? if you get approved what happens? do they give something showing that? is there any chance of being denied reentry because I traveled after the interview? we are you going there for our Anniversary so :( we are soooo confused because we got the tickets to Mauritius

3 Also, if we get the interview letter, does that mean that everthing that we sent is correct? I'm a little scared about the cosponsor i864, but since we got the interview you guys think that we dont have to worry about that?

4: where can we find good advice on interview pitfalls?

Sorry if I have tooo much questions but I'm just a confused college student

Thanks again!

Since your petition was based on marriage for legal status in the US (obtaining a green card) you will be required to attend interview. They will just ask basic questions, how you met your spouse, what your you and your spouse do for a living, etc. They just want to see in person that you are a legitimate couple and not just marrying to get a green card. Dont make it harder than it is, in fact, its really easy, if you got married out of love, then you can pass the interview. If you are hiding something, then thats another story. Other than that, you will be fine. Just prepare documents that you sent when you filed for AOS. The actual letter states what you should bring to the interview, and nothing less. Congrats and good luck!

No, you won't. Probably you will have only one interview. If something goes wrong, you could have another. But let's hope for the best.

I have read that IO took advance parole and employment authorization card. And you cannot use advance parole after you have your interview.

If you get approved on the interview - soon you will get you green card.

You don't have to worry about it. If they have any questions about the form - they will ask you on the interview.

They didn't tell me if I was approved or not. They just told me I have to wait for mail.

I could keep my EAD (didn't have AP) ...

So I guess, if they approve you right away you can get a stamp in your passport if you tell them that you want to travel. Otherwise you can keep your EAD or AP.

But that is just what I think. I'm not 100% sure if it is correct. :)

And I forgot: They automatically approve the I-130 after the interview with your GC if they haven't done that yet.

Thanks, I hope they will approve us right away,or even if they say we gotta comeback for another interview, at least they can gave us the AP back so that we can leave the country and comeback without problems. It's just for 5 nights anyways so I hope their won't be any problem. someone told me to have an Infopass but I don't feel like driving and getting the same info that I'm getting in here. I called USCIS they did not say anything important... blah blah blah

Thanks again still stressed about this, cuz if something weird happens we will loose soooo much money we saved our #### off for this trip :( Dios mio!!!!!
