This is an early question but I want to avoid further delays by the time we will get our approval (OMG i do not even know WHEN  ).

We have a lawyer and as I understand, he will automatically be our AGENT? It means that all the papers in connection with our petition would be sent to him. Is there anything we could do that the papers would be directly send to my husbie instead? It would just be a waste of time if it would go through a lawyer (nvc-lawyer-husbie-me then me-husbie-lawyer-nvc process). I have read somewhere that I would have to write a formal letter officially dropping him out of our case but I am afraid it might delay us more (we signed G-28 - authorization).

He didn't do anything in the first place (just sent our papers)! I do not want to pay him more for merely sending our docs again. He is not even aware of the on-going transfer of cases. :bonk: I am not even sure if he is aware of NVC shortcuts.

USCIS wait is long enough for us to bear. Anymore delays would be something I could not handle (especially by a lawyer). I might break his neck. :luv:

Any insights?

Thanks.

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

I think YOU(the beneficiary) can email NVC when its appropriate, with your case number and say that you didnt receive the choice of agent form and say you want to appoint your husband.

I think thats a "trick" I have read about

I hope someone comes along with more info :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Thanks. I hope the "trick" would work even with G-28 signed. :)

Personal i don't think you have to wait much longer for news from NVC.

That is just my oppinion. The best of luck to you.

I do not want to have delays in USCIS if that's what you mean. If I would just tell them that we would like to take the lawyer out of our case now then it might delay our approval more. Not sure though.

just found this guys.

What do I need to do to remove an attorney from my case?

If you no longer wish to utilize an attorney as your representative, please contact the National Visa Center (NVC) in writing.

Please see the NVC’s contact information .

it's been 6 months 11 days since the USCIS got your I-130 [195 days] and it's been 5 months 16 days since the VSC got your I-129f [169 days] (I don't know why you filed that as long as you're saying on your profile that you've filed for CR1 visa! if you want CR1 you file I-130 only)

your petitions had been forwarded to VSC and that means that you need to be patient... if your I-129f got approved (mostly both petitions are going to be approved around the same time but your I-129f is gonna be forwarded to the US embassy in Manila first and your case will be treated as K3 otherwise if you wanted CR1 you need to wait till I-130 comes to the US embassy)

I say that you need to wait about 40 to 50 days till they approve you, according to your timeline so be patient and as you didn't have to have a lawyer from the beginning anyways, it's a do-it-yourself process, he can not do anything now from his end! but you'll need him if something terrible came up..

Just jumping in here :)

She is just saying, WHEN she gets to NVC...she doesnt want the CR1 correspondence from NVC going to the lawyer.

Alot of people filed k3 because it supposed to be quicker, but really they want to follow the CR1 path.

Also, You cannot just "wait" until your 130 gets to the consulate. It will never reach the consulate if you do not respond to the AOS fee bill, ect via NVC.

If you would just read and try to understand my post correctly then you would realize that I just wanna kick out the lawyer during the NVC process since it would just be a waste of time and money. My HUSBAND insisted to have a lawyer since he is not a PAPER type of person (it is his money anyway). Now that I am very much aware that IT IS A DO-IT-YOURSELF PROCESS, we could just DROP the lawyer. I know everything that you have discussed above and it is not my MAIN CONCERN.. My question mainly focused about KICKING OUT THE LAWYER in NVC PROCESS !!!!

The highlighted part is a pessimistic comment anyway.
