As for the poet/poem, I never actually listened to it really. I am not into the poems that don't sound like typical poems. If it sounds like something that would bring on a round of applause in finger snapping instead of claps, it probably isn't my thing.

An alternate explanation, in the poet's defense... could be that it was too cold for her, and she may have been emotionally overwhelmed having been the next person after the swearing in... etc... who knows?

The road is but dirt, that hath no pavement! The bridge that thee longs for, built of hope is weak. Strength is born from ones mind and not ones hopes or dreams. For one that puts his/hers life in anothers hand shall surely parish.

To lottarize ones life as a prize will surely suffer such as thee. To give a soul to mere words, thine too shall suffer such as thine self has done. To follow a false profit will also lead one too confusion and disaster. Thine shall look deeply into oneself! deeply and wonder! for thine mind is not of the individual but of a follower.

One that walks aimlessly without purpose owns nothing. For they are owned by the false profit and shall do the deeds of a stranger!

Ok I listened to it...I did get what she was saying overall. I mean, to me it doesn't sound like a poem-just an inspirational speech with some poetic wording thrown in. But not too bad, not as bad as I thought it would be.
