Hello, everyone! Today we received our interview letter for our AOS. The interview is scheduled for July 12th. I went to the Phoenix office on Wednesday to see if our case was at least in their office yet and was told no and that we would have to wait quite awhile longer since they are only doing interviews for people who applied in May 2005. Our application date is December 29, 2005. The Phoenix office must have accomplished a huge feat and interviewed everyone whose dates are from May until December since Wednesday. WOW!!! I'm impressed! Or maybe the processing dates are lying---even to the officers. Our interview is exactly seven months to the day after my husband's interview in Lagos last year. I told him that the 12th is his lucky day! Maybe we'll play the lottery on the 12th of every month now...

We never have received his darn EAD card. It's almost six months in processing now. But it has been touched twice this past week. So it's surely coming soon....for what it's worth. He got an interim EAD in March and has been able to work. I told Stephen, "Well, now we don't have to worry about the EAD." He said that we still need to worry because he paid for it and he wants what he paid for. When I told him that they will most likely take it at the AOS interview, he laughed and said, "They ain't takin' nothin' from me. I done paid for it." It was funny.

I am definitely ready for the two year break that we get after the AOS interview! What will it feel like to just be able to live our lives without worrying about keeping every possible document and picture for the immigration department to look at? Well, now I'll be busy preparing documents again. Fortunately, we have kept everything together and now it just needs to be organized and photocopied. Fun, fun!
