The fighting in Gaza appeared to reach the Golan Heights on Sunday when gunshots were fired at an IDF vehicle along the border with Syria. It was the second attack along Israel's northern border since Operation Cast lead began in late December.

The IDF said the vehicle was carrying civilians and soldiers who were conducitng engineering work along the border. No one was hurt, though the vehicle sustained some damage and military sources said it was likely a lone Syrian gunman who decided to open fire at the force to protest the IDF operations in the Gaza Strip.

Shortly after the incident, Israel filed a complaint with UNDOF, the United Nations observer force based in the Golan Heights.

Last Thursday, two people in a retirement home were lightly wounded when four Katyusha rockets slammed into the northern city of Nahariya. Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said his organization was not behind the attack and military sources said it was likely carried out by Hizbullah.

"We are keeping a close eye on the northern border," a senior defense official said Sunday. "The shooting from Syria appears to be a lone gunman but we are concerned with Hizbullah in Lebanon which might attack Israel to help Hamas in Gaza."

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

If Hezbollah and Hamas would stop firing rockets and shooting and committing suicides in Israel, then Im quite sure Israel would stop going after them. But since hezbollah and hamas dont know how to quit, its going to keep going on.

Ahh my quote on my FB, if you want different results, then stop doing the same things over and over and do something different for a change. this applies nicely to them too.

edited to say a Good Morning shout out to Nagi! :star:

*shouts back a HI at Tamara*

Hezbollah wants all the power and will use HamAss to gain it, IMO.

they should just go to all out war and let the best man win....and united states keep its nose out of it.

Pretty soon it just may happen that way Donna, including Russia and Iran joining in. . . be careful what you wish for. It may happen sooner than you think .

i dont wish for it...but maybe thats what needs to happen to solve this mess.

what is needed is for people to show true love and compassion even to their enemies instead of blowing them up or shooting rockets at them. One thing I think of would be like a husband and wife relationship. 2 very different people from different ways of thinking and cultures. Sometimes we agree to disagree on subjects or sometimes we talk about things to try to resolve them. If I blow my husbands head off it wont solve anything.

edited again to say, although my husband is not by far my enemy, its the principle of what Im saying that is to be applied to Israel and militants.

With a 50% divorce rate in America and the stats on spousal and child abuse and murders committed , I'd pick a better comparison as a roadmap for peace.

well it wasnt Americans marriage I was referring to, it was the true love and compassion of a relationship, friendship situation and in that we should try just as hard to come to an agreement with even our enemies in a loving way rather than a hateful one. Maybe a poll should be made with everyones opinion on what would be a good agreement and resolution for the mideast. Every other country talks about their own opinions so what would our opinion be. Religion to the side. Just straight up what agreement on both sides should be made and kept to obtain peace.
