If sister's husband lives in the same household as you the may use an I-864A, if not then they use an I-864 as a Joint sponsor.

I-864A is for a person living in same houshold to contribute additional income to a sponsor or joint sponsor.

One use for it is a K-3 that entered the USA and applied for an EAD, and took a job with the EAD before filing for AOS, the K-3 can then add their income to that of their spouse, the K-3 would fill out an I-864A as a member of the household.
