Hey Guys! Since there are a lot of interviews this week, I wanted to give you a frame of reference on when visas are coming back. As you all know, David had his interview a week ago today. He still has not received a text message from the courier service letting us know when it will be delivered. We have also checked the tracking number on the courier's website and there is no information available there as well. I called DOS today and was told that they usually show when the visa has been printed and according to our case number, it has not. The system shows no issues or anything pending just the interview date of 11/24. I can only assume that they are backed up or the holiday caused a delay as well. I am hoping in the by the end of the week he will have it back but at this point, there is no way to know...Anyway, I wanted to let you all know so that you can plan accordingly. I will post when we do hear something but for now...we still don't know what is going on...

Good luck to everyone! It is a great start to the week so far!

Sorry for being so naive, but what is the DoS number and will they be able to provide information on other visas besides K-1? Which case number do you provide? CIS or NVC?

Thanks!

I think they will do it for the IR-5 as well. Give them the number which starts with LND, so NVC, probably.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. Tony and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the forum for your support and advice. Because of VJ and you, we've had a reasonably smooth ride and have been as prepared and we possibly could.

Ginny, I hope David gets his visa soon. I plan to fly on Wed, the man who interviewed me said I should be ok. My 5th business day will be Tues so I could be recheduling!

Inhopeofglory, that probably was me...congrats on your approval!

Now the review. We arrived at 8:30 for a 9 am appointment and got through security pretty quickly. We sat and waited..Tony read the paper and I analysed the the number system. Windows #1 and 14 we're processing paperwork for I numbers and windows #15 and 16 were interviewing them.

I had around 9 people ahead of me and was called to window #1 around 10ish.

I smiled nicely and said hello at the lady behind the window who promptly looked up and grunted at me.She was very rude and made it quite clear with her facial expressions and comments that I was being an inconvennience to her. She asked for each document one at a time, birth certificate, police certificate, photos and evidence of support.

She snapped at me when I didn't understand her. The funniest part was the finger prints. I seemed to not press hard enough and she told me to press harder. I did and then she yelled at me that I wasn't listening to her! Tony was stunned into silence at this point. She then tried to hole punch all my documents several times with various comments and pulled faces.

I was quite worried at this point that if my interview was to be the same then it was going to be a rough ride.

After paying for the visa and handing her back my receipt she said that I should sit back down and wait for my interview.

Tony and I then spent the next hour watching the next victims go to her window.

About 11:15 we were called to window 16. The man looked very stern but was very friendly. The whole interview was like a chat. After swearing me in he asked me

- How long have you been engaged?

- How did you meet?

He asked Tony- When are you getting married?

He then looked like he was about to ask more questions. He flicked through our file one more time, looked up and said "well I'm going to go ahead and approve you. Welcome to the family!"

At which point I cried, thanked him and hugged Tony.

He then explained how the visa will be delivered and said we should have it in time to fly on Wednesday. He told us how he was from SC and we chatted about the south while he sorted our papers. He wished us look and congratulations for the wedding.

I then went and paid for the courier and we left the embassy at 11:30.

In all not bad - the paperwork lady was the worst part.

I'm glad that I was lucky enough to have Tony with me, he calmed me down when I needed it. It was very hard to say goodbye to him this morning but I know that I will be seeing him very, very soon!

Amanda :)

Wow, so sorry you had a hard time with the paperwork person, Amanda! But you had the same guy as me for the interview, at Window 16 (unless he'd taken a break by the time you went). :) Very nice guy.

For anyone who's interested, my interview review is on the main review page for the London Embassy here on VJ.
